Went to J’s this morning for breakfast. We had seen a rave on Facebook about their Chicken Fried Steak so we decided to try it. We were not disappointed 👍 Very good food and large servings❣️
Had brunch at J's for the first time. Always saw great reviews. Our expectations of the place we're spot on! glad we went there. The staff/owners are very friendly and welcoming. The food was delicious and the portions are huge. Thank you Jaime for the great service and food. We will definitely be returning!

J's Hideaway Tehachapi is a favorite place to eat in town, offering great food and outstanding service. The decor is patriotic, supporting police, fire fighters, and service members, giving the restaurant cozy country vibes. The staff is warm, friendly, very sweet, and kind. The establishment is clean, orderly, and not too loud for conversation.
Menu highlights include the French Dip with fries, which is excellent, very flavorful, and tasty. The Cowboy tater tots and sampler platter are really good apps. The Country fried steak and gravy with mashed potatoes are delicious, and the meatloaf is good. The baked potato is cooked to perfection, and the Patriot burger is great. The burger plate prices are not too bad. Those potato chip things are to die for. The chili omelet is delicious, and the pastrami is outstanding. The Mac n cheese is okay after a ton of pepper, and the clam chowder tastes like cream of celery. However, the ribeyes are gray and flavorless, so don't order the steak. A little bit of seasoning would have been great. Customers should bring cash to avoid a 4% processing fee for cards.
