Greasy spoon. $50 breakfast. Heartburn all day long.

Best home cookin in tehachapi. Love the atmosphere and the like-mindedness of the customers. Biscuits and gravy, and pancakes might be best ever. No commies allowed.

Kid-friendliness: Family friendly, with toys

Parking: Plenty

It’s not often that I leave a review, unless it’s far on each side of the spectrum. But it’s with a heavy heart that I share my experience. I have been to many places that are arguably bad due to a combination of food and service, however, this instance was exclusively about the food. My wife and I ordered two omelettes. I can’t attest to my wife’s experience, but the ingredients in my omelette were foul. I ordered the cubed steak omelette, but what I received was far from what you would call a steak. It’s was undercooked and had a grayish color, when I tried to cut it, there was still connective tissue on the ground beef. The taste was rather bland and slightly rancid. The sides were equally disappointing. My hash browns were oily and soggy and the butter on my toast was rancid as well. Now I don’t want to leave a review to warn people to stay away but rather for the owners to strive to become better and improve their food. For now I will not eat here, but I would be open to give it a second chance once the aforementioned concerns are addressed.

Service was slow took an hour to get our food. Food was very small portions for the high price. Very greasy and not that tasty. Very dirty environment, floor is greasy with trash everywhere, Very curious how they got a "A" rating from the health inspector. I watched more people walk out then sat down, should have followed them. Very disappointed as it could be a very nice cafe if they would do there part by cleaning, bigger portions and train the staff on correct food handling measures.

Service was fairly slow, only once came and refilled our coffee and waters. The food was portioned nicely and was of good quality.

The food wasn't all that great for the price the meals are. I had a biscuits n gravy and I couldn't finish it cause the biscuits were so dry and tasted like they are very stale.

Great food overall. I had the omelet and it was delicious. They had Wi-Fi for guests which was nice. Atmosphere was a little overwhelming, but I had a good meal.

Stopped here for brunch after my sister's wedding. The staff were very pleasant and quick, easily remembering who's orders were who's even though we were a 8 person party.I was a bit disappointed with the food however. I had heard really good things about them and maybe it was just a bad day, but the food was kind of flavorless and the chicken fried steak and biscuits and gravy just tasted like straight flour. I almost stepped out to do a rapid test and make sure i didn't have COVID haha!It was a little cramped for a bigger party but for 2 or 3 people it probably wouldn't be too bad. Either way I do think I'll stop there again next time I'm going through Tehachapi to see if it was just a one off on the food bc I've been told by several people how good the food usually is. The kindness and promptness of the staff was definitely a selling point too, really great staff. I'll update my rating next time I eat there.
