Delicious. Wish this were close to home! I had beef ribs and the yams. The ribs were great, and a great change of pace! The yams were delicious and not overly sweet, thank goodness. The waitstaff was attentive without being intrusive. Definitely recommend!
You want BBQ? This is the place! I am a beef/pork rib type and the sauces complements well! I even have to get the Rib of the Beast my fav! đ
This place was highly recommended by many reviewers. We came here for dinner and both of our orders were incorrect when they serve them to us. One order was a brisket sandwich with french fries and it came to us as a sandwich with a bag of chips. The other order was a half of a brisket sandwich and a green salad. It came to us with a plate of brisket and a side salad. Both orders were screwed up! We talked to the waitress as well as the owner and let them know that our orders were incorrect and that the sandwich was brought with the fries coming about 15 minutes later. Not acceptable! The owner that we talked to told us thank you for understanding, and we could barely understand her language. Thank you for understanding!!??? First of all, we couldnât understand her when she spoke and secondly, we couldnât understand how they could give you a sandwich before they gave you the rest of your dinner, which was the french fries to go with the sandwich. Thatâs what we were understanding. The waitress ended up taking the french fries off of the bill. Because she was sorry that our order had been messed up. We told the waitress that they need to tell the cooks to read the orders better and not to just assume what a customer wanted. I asked for half a sandwich and a salad and I was told that the cooks when they get those orders, assume most people only want a platter of meat with their salad so thatâs what they did. Again, not acceptable! I would advise anyone who comes to Tehachapi, California not to go to this restaurant. You may and probably will be completely disappointed! When we were driving back to our hotel, we noticed we could have and probably should have gone to either Dennyâs or Subway for our dinner. Lesson learned! Food was actually mediocre as well. Great ratings on this place, but donât be fooled by the ratings.
Really fast and friendly service. Great value for the food. Very tasty bar-b-cue and Cajun shrimp. Sauces are so good we bought some.
Red Roof BBQ is âichi-banâ ( Number 1). We go from N.Calif. to Arizona or Las Vegas several times a year. Red Roof is always our first choice (except Tuesdaysâ when they are closed.). Reasonably priced, excellent BBQ including smoked ribs, brisket, chicken. Exceptional slaw â red and green (I prefer the red, but green is very tasty.) Funky interior decoration changed not long ago to include a nice little full service bar. Outdoor seating near the large smoker for warmer weather. Looking forward to lunch at Red Roof always wonderfully breaks up a long drive.
This place was one of two restaurants in town specifically recommended by the front desk clerk at our hotel and now we know why. Not crowded late on a weekday night, wait staff very friendly, food was excellent. Pork ribs were amazing, fried catfish and fried okra were excellent, my husband said it was some of the best fried okra he had ever had. Highly recommend this place for BBQ!
Nice Smoke house with good food. I tried the Burger sliders and it was pretty good. Buns were a bit too heavy but the meat in it (pulled pork, brisket, chicken) was delicious ! Take the cornbread as a side and you won't be disapointed. I would give a solid 4.5

If you are there on a Saturday night, plan to wait at least 45 minutes. But... it's worth it!

Thought I would try something other than BBQ and was impressed with the pastrami sandwich. The pastrami was cooked perfectly, tender not too soft, and had great flavor. It is more smoky, and that was a good thing, compared to other pastrami I have had. But was really tasty. I'm a big guy and the 1/2 sandwich was a big portion.

Best BBQ in town! Everything was delicious. The pork ribs, the beef ribs, the shrimp, the pulled pork and brisket. You can't go wrong! Great side dishes too. This is our go to restaurant every time we pass through town. Highly recommend
