I have never been one to write bad reviews, but this experience warranted one. Worst Valentine's Day dinner I've ever experienced. They were out of most of the menu items, which would have been understandable except that was not disclosed to us whatsoever aside from the dessert. I mentioned the description of the menu item and realized there were things missing from the plate, that included butter and chimmichurri sauce but was told it was supossed to be for the potatoes that were originally going to be served with the steak apparently. They instead replaced it with a side order of fries, that they did not tell us they were going to do, and we had even already ordered a side of fries. We clearly would not have ordered those fries had we had known we were getting those already. There was even supossed to be aoli served with the side of fries we ordered as well, and were only provided ketchup. Our drinks were subpar, my boyfriend got a watered down old fashion, and I waited about 15 minutes for a straw as my cocktail wasn't stirred enough and couldn't sip it without tasting just alcohol. Considering we had a reservation and wasn't just a walk in, this experience was completely unacceptable, we even boxed up the dessert to go (the smallest slice of cake I've ever been served in a restaurant) and had to leave with how disappointing everything was. Paying $150 felt like a complete scam as we really just paid for french fries and a subpar steak with nothing added to it. As someone in food service, I've always been one to understand that things happen and will always find a silver lining. I've even been forgotten about at a restaurant for an hour and still look back and understand and empathize with that situation. There was not one single thing that I could make positive of this experience. Completely ruined our Valentine's Day, choose any where else in Old Town for any occasion.

Such great amazingly tasting food even though it's on the expensive side, it is still worth it. Great service and experience with the ambiance and aesthetics of the location. I'll be definitely coming to eat here again with my wife.

Food was amazing. We had the cauliflower appetizer for starters and it was delicious. The kitchen staff were aware that it was going to be shared (2 of us) and they had sliced it in half before serving it. Our entree was sea bass and it was one of the best ever, beatifically prepared and served and there was nothing left on the plate when we were finished. The Creme Brule was also delicious as was the house super Tuscan wine. Our server, Hannah, was terrific. She was pleasant, polit and always there when we needed her.. This is a definite top 5 on our list of dining

The food was exceptional — fresh, beautifully presented, and full of flavor. Every dish we tried was thoughtfully prepared with high-quality ingredients, and the menu strikes a perfect balance between classic favorites and creative globally-inspired fare.  The service was friendly, attentive, and genuinely welcoming, which made our evening even better.  Whether you're stopping in for weekend brunch or a leisurely dinner, Small Barn is a must-visit in Old Town Temecula. We'll definitely be back! 🍽️✨

Small Barn in Old Town Temecula is a beautiful spot with great food, a warm atmosphere, and an overall fantastic dining experience. The dishes were excellent and the setting felt cozy and inviting. The only downside was that the service felt a bit rushed, and we were given the wrong check at the end. It seemed like an honest mistake, but still something that can be serious. Aside from that, everything was wonderful, and I'd definitely come back again.

We've visited Temecula many times, and I'd been wanting to try this spot because it looked so cute and inviting. The service was very good and the atmosphere was great. The food, however, was just okay.We ordered the breakfast sandwich and the Barn Burger. Both dishes seemed a bit over-salted, and the breakfast sandwich was very rich. The burger was fine, but nothing memorable. The fries were lukewarm, and when I asked for ranch dressing, the only option was a chipotle ranch that tasted more like mayonnaise.Overall, it wasn't bad, but in our opinion there are better places in town with a similar menu. If you'd like it shorter, more direct, or more positive/neutral in tone, I can adjust it!
We ate at Small Barn last Thanksgiving and it was great, I had the best salmon ever. This year none of the food was good. We aren't sure we'd be back again on a regular day but definitely not on a holiday.
