Went wine tasting, great as always
I really did enjoy the property. The rooms are absolutely beautiful and stunning. To be able to walk out the patio and sit and have breakfast was amazing. I would’ve liked to have food at the pool however that was not an option. Will definitely return to the property. I also enjoyed the Vineyard and wine tasting room. I got a glass of wine and plenty of souvenirs that I felt were reasonable priced.
The location and setting of this winery are phenomenal and that's about it. The rooms are dated, mattresses worn out and the pillows are terrible. The wine tasting room is drab and depressing and is in need of serious updating. At $500 a night you have the right to expect way more from your stay than the one I experienced. Front desk staff are a little indifferent to your presence it made for an unwelcome feel. As I stated before the location and setting are the only 2 things this place has got going for it. No reason to return unless major renovations and pleasant front desk staff changes are made.
Beautiful views in the hotel room the only downside is that if your room is attached to another unit you can hear your neighbor open and close the main front door constantly. Unfortunately my neighbor was loading items in the car so the door kept slamming shut multiple times in the morning.
If you're ever out in Temecula, the Carter Estates is the place to stay at. Beautiful scenery, cozy rooms, wine tasting room is delicious. The staff is also very helpful and polite.
Awesome wine and service
Such an incredible experience this week at Carter! The room was amazing and the staff was exceptional. Huge shout out to Kevin and Tahra in the tasting room for making our stay extra special.
Really, I would give this hotel a 4.5 but it was an overall really good experience so I’ll give it 5! The property is beautiful. The vineyards are amazing and there are wildflowers and lavender surrounding the property, which makes it smell amazing. The room was nice, although we had a couple issues when we -arrived, however they were corrected shortly. the staff was friendly and the pool area was nice too. I would definitely come back!
This is one of the coolest hotels I’ve ever stayed at! Stayed for one weekend with my girlfriend and it was a very relaxing experience, the room is very nice and the bathroom is awesome! The bed isn’t the best though, it’s a fold down bed. It was nice to see the vineyard right out your window with your own patio too!! They also have a bus to take you to some wineries!
I’ve stayed here four times in the last few years due to its convenient location. It’s important to note they no longer offer a complimentary breakfast like they used to. (They do have paid room service available you order the night before). The room unfortunately had large spiderwebs in the bathroom windows and the fireplace was very noisy when we tried to use it. The tv seemed like it would allow screen casting (for Netflix or other streaming) but didn’t have all the activation codes required to do so. The location is great and the view of the vineyard in the morning is also great. I enjoyed the large shower and deep bathtub, I just feel at $400+ a night it may not be what some people expect.
Restaurantji Recommends
I truly enjoyed my stay at Carter estate. From the light breakfasts delivered to our suire to the pool area to the staff and the doggy park! Every single staff member went out of their way to ensure that our stay was memorable and enjoyable. All common areas were extraordinarily clean and beautiful. I highly recommend this place.
Our 3-night wedding weekend stay at Carter Estate Winery and Resort was not what we had hoped for, especially for such a special occasion.
Pros:
• The check-in staff was kind and welcoming, acknowledging our wedding and providing wine tasting tickets. The wine tasting was lovely and a highlight of our stay.
• The view from our room was stunning and private, overlooking the vineyards, even at this time of year.
• The fireplace in the room was a cozy touch, and the AC and heating system worked well.
• The shower had two showerheads, which seemed like a neat feature, though it’s worth noting that only one can be used at a time.
• The location was very convenient to our wedding venue, which made logistics much easier for our big day.
Cons:
Noise Issues:
• The morning of our wedding, we were awakened at 7 AM by loud landscaping right outside our door. The soundproofing was poor, and the timing was frustrating. There were also sporadic beeps from the smoke alarm that morning, but they were so far apart that we didn’t realize the issue.
• The night after our wedding, the smoke alarm’s low battery began beeping continuously, keeping us awake. We called the front desk at 5 AM and were told someone would arrive by 7:15 AM to fix it. We stayed up waiting, but no one came. After several follow-up calls, maintenance didn’t arrive until after 8 AM. By then, the morning we had hoped would be restful was completely lost.
Housekeeping:
• When we requested fresh towels and trash removal, the items were left just inside the door rather than being placed in their proper locations.
Room Design Issues:
• The bed was on a metal frame that made an odd warping sound anytime we sat or lay on it, which was distracting.
• There was no microwave, although note that there is a mini fridge. This was our oversight, we’re used to having one wherever we stay.
I was so excited for this stay, expecting an elevated experience similar to what many wineries in the area are known for. If we hadn’t lost so much sleep, this could have been a much better stay. While the resort waived two nights of resort fees, the lack of communication, hospitality, and restfulness overshadowed the positives.
It’s bittersweet because there’s so much potential here. With better attention to detail and guest comfort, this could have been a place we’d want to return to for future anniversaries. Sadly, it fell short this time.
Carter Estate is a good place to stay during your trip to Temecula's wine country. Carter is situated in the middle of the vineyards in Temecula, making it a great location if you spend all of your time in wine country. The only downside about the location is that if you want to enjoy the restaurants or bars in town, you'll have quite a drive ahead of you. Unlike Napa Valley, many Temecula wineries have restaurants or food on site, so this is not a significant loss.
Most of the rooms at Carter Estate are well over 500 square feet, so you'll have plenty of space stretch out. Each room has a mini fridge, table and chairs, double vanity, shower, bathtub, and a patio with a vineyard view. There wasn't any complimentary wine for my trip, but I also booked via a third party.
I only had two complaints about the room: the TV's infotainment system in my room was trash. Most of the time, it didn't work. My other complaint was that the Wi-Fi was weak (no more than 6MB/second).
Overall, Carter Estate is a great place to stay. I had a few bugs, but I wouldn't let that stop you. If you need another reason to consider Carter, the staff is the best. Everyone we interacted with was courteous and helpful.
Spent 2 nights here and really enjoyed this place. Had a large bungalow room with an electric fireplace and private small outdoor patio overlooking the vineyard. Very peaceful and comfortable. The bathroom was incredibly large. Walk in shower and a separate soaking tub, dual sinks. Dining area and living room area with flat screen TV. There was a mini fridge but oddly no microwave.
The entry was a shared foyer - which was a bit odd. Only noise we heard was when the people in the other bungalow went in/out of the front door.
The breakfast was not included - but we ordered room service and it was pretty good.
We got a free bottle of wine at check in as we booked directly through the Carter Estate website - which was a nice gift. It was pretty tasty. Unfortunately did not have a chance to check out the tasting room - but next time.
We never got to the pool - but it looked nice with some cabanas around it on one side.
Housekeeping responded quickly to an issue with the conditioner being broken in the shower. Everything else was fine. Staff at check in and check out were friendly and efficient.
Nice central location - close to many of the wineries. I would certainly stay here again.
The room is just hideous -
Filthy!
The front desk worker was lovely and very helpful, the rooms are shameful!!
Carpet I’d disgusting- dirty and coming up in many places - the curtains are dirty, the walls dinged all over.
I had to change rooms because the patio doors didn’t lock.
There is no blow dryer, the bathroom tub was dirty.
The neighboring room is loud and smoking weed
All counter area are layered with dust
Management should be embarrassed!!! This is the quality of a low end motel 6
Including just a few disgusting pictures
