So, Fanny's is gone. Considering my last experience (on New Years' Eve), not a shock. Is it impossible to get good food in this town?

Best Chinese food in Riverside.

Customer service is lacking. I came to order and I have not been here before. I was looking at the menu and the person taking the order told me I needed to hurry and place my order because the cook didn't have much time. I felt very rushed. The person that was next in line was allowed to take their time and place their order. I will not be coming here again

This place used to be one of my favorites. But lately, every time I try to go here it's weird. In January I went by on a Sunday afternoon to place a large party order. The door was locked and they came to the door but wouldn't let me come in. They said the chef wasn't there and I could come back later. In February I tried to take my kids there on a Tuesday evening. Closed. In March, on a Saturday, I called at 8:50 to place an order for pick up. They close at 9:30, should have been plenty of time for two entrees. I got hung up on twice when I stated I was placing an order for pick up. I called back a 3rd time and was told it was too much for them at this late hour. I said that Yelp says they close at 9:30, but the guy on the phone said they had to close early. These people must not need business. They seem to make up their hours as they go. I placed my order with no problem at Chef K. They answered their phone, were super helpful in describing the dishes, and said the food would be ready in 10-15 minutes! If the food is good that will be my new Chinese place.

I will never eat here again. Ordered egg drop soup to go it took 50 minutes. What a disappointment. It was not good. Why are there huge chunks of onion and garlic in it? I think they wanted to make me sick.

We especially like the sweet and sour soup. MuShu chicken was good but needed more plum sauce.

I have mixed feelings about this place. On the positive side they've got probably the best dumplings I've ever had. I love them. I crave them all of the time. The potstickers are alright as well. The bad.. first of all THEY ARE CLOSED ON Tuesday!!! Why? Why on earth would a restaurant be closed on Tuesday's? They should be open every single day of the week, and if it's because they need a day off then they should hire more help. As a paying customer I think this is totally unacceptable and just weird. There are way too many other restaurants to choose from that are open seven days a week. What a huge letdown when you're only in the mood for their dumplings and you go call them and THEY ARE CLOSED ON FRICKIN TUESDAYS!!! Oh I got it out... still frustrating though. The rest of the bad. I ordered the "special chicken" and since they put all of the breaded fried chicken directly into the sauce it only takes but 5 mins to make it soggy, so if you order pickup then you'll be disappointed when you bite into soggy, rubbery chicken. Why not put the sauce on the side so this doesn't happen? Why not put it on the side especially on pickup orders? Seems like common sense goes out the window. Not only was the chicken soggy, it was pretty much ALL dark meat and some gristle as well. I also ordered the Chicken Lo Mein and it was maybe the worse I've ever had. It had barely any flavor, and the flavor it did have tasted like dirty dish water. No joke. All three of us that ate it said the same thing. It took a ton of soy sauce to drown the weird flavor. We didn't even finish it because it was so unappetizing. Last but not least I'll just say I'm a bit of a germaphobe, I'm not crazy with it, but I like to know that I'm eating at a clean place. When I picked up my food I walked in and was pretty dirty. Filthy dishes stacked up on tables, trash and dirt on the floor, and no employees around for minutes. I think I they were out smoking. Pretty bad impression to say the least, as it looked like the dishes had been sitting there for awhile. Anyway, I hate to bang up a local business in the reviews, but I'm hoping this helps improve things. I'd give it one star if it weren't for the delicious steamed dumplings. The Lo Mein, the soggy Special chicken, dirty restaurant, and not being open on Tuesday would easily earn this place one start. The dumplings earn it two. I'd say go for the dumplings, but if you try on a Tuesday, you're screwed.

I really like the food most of the time, but there is no consistency with the spicy entrees most of the time there is little to no heat but I guess when the cook is mad he uses the whole bottle of crushed red peppers because it is way to hot to eat.

My oh my, love the dumplings! Could eat Them til I explode! And you can watch the ladies make them right in front of you. The food is fantastic, the portions are huge, the hospitality is unmatched. I was waiting for a take out, and was given a kettle of hot tea while I waited, and had a great conversation with the staff, who are more friendly than many people I've met so far in SoCal.

This "hole-in-the-wall" serves fresh, authentic Chinese with bright flavors.

Where is the beef? In this case where's the chicken? Could not find much of it in the braised green bean with chicken... There must have been an ounce of chicken in there to a huge takeout container full of green beans and about an ounce of chicken for $12. Talk about profit. What a rip off!
