Should have read Yelp reviews first, instead of Google. Apparently, this place has been on a decline in recent months. Unfortunately, this is the worst sushi I've ever experienced. Service was good but it smelled like bad fish when we first walked in. That should have been my que. We did the all you can eat. Something tastes off about most of the fish. Even the baked rolls. Super low-quality. The rolls fell apart upon picking them up. I can see now how they afford a $40 all you can eat menu. Just hoping I dont pay for it in the bathroom later.
The serving size of the baked scallop roll was awesome! I also liked the baked salmon roll. This place has good pricing. Feels like you're getting your moneys worth here. The quality is pretty good, although I haven't found my favorite roll yet. Several of the rolls are buried in sauce. The service is great. The restaurant is nice & clean.
The rice is the best! Great quality RICE and fish!
awesome food. everything is great
Plenty of other sushi restaurants to go to nearby that are far better. Incredibly rude manager. Ruined the experience as he was worried about left over rice. Hard to believe his job involves working with customers as his customer service needs to be looked into. Can tell there was a poor environment as a result of his awful management. Food was also not great, but the manager did leave us with a sour taste in our mouth.
Awful customer service
Was talked down by a male employee like a child because of some leftover rice that would fall off the sushi rolls. I believe he’s the manager, he sits behind the register. He raised his voice at me in front of all of the other customers prohibiting me to order any more rounds in the all you can eat sushi. I said I ate it all, and he accused me of hiding rice between the plates. All for rice that would cost 10 cents, for the $180 meal I paid for my family and I. We are not wasteful people, and ate everything he ordered. We said that the only parts that were on the plate were some parts of rice that would fall and he quickly responded back with “then don’t order all you can eat, you’re lucky we didn’t charge you for that extra rice”. It’s a shame because it was our favorite place to eat as a family.
Crazy that we ordered all you can eat sushi then got yelled at for ordering all you can eat sushi.
After reading the other reviews I see we aren’t the only ones.
Best sushi restaurant hands down. All you can eat for an affordable price. Great service and atmosphere. Love this place.
Kid-friendliness: I take my 2 year old son here when I can and he loves the chicken teriyaki bowls. Great environment for families looking to enjoy a nice time out with their kids.

Let me tell you, Gin Sushi is a true gem—especially if you’re there on a Thursday afternoon, because we had the most amazing server who may or may not be a sushi angel. Their service alone is worth the trip! Attentive, friendly, and somehow always there when we needed them, but not hovering like a ninja with a rice paddle.
We went for the all-you-can-eat option, which is both a challenge and a joy. Some of the rolls were out-of-this-world delicious—seriously, I'd eat those every day if I could. Others? Well, they were okay... let’s just say they filled the plate and my stomach, but my heart was still waiting for the next knockout roll.
But honestly, it's the vibe and the service that make this place shine. The good rolls are really good, and even the 'meh' rolls are made better by the excellent experience. I walked in hungry and walked out happy (and a little too full). If you’re looking for great sushi, friendly staff, and a good time, Gin Sushi’s the spot. Definitely worth a try—just don’t challenge yourself too hard with that all-you-can-eat menu!

Special rolls are nice to have but if you want something quick for lunch or dinner then go for a hand roll. Good ratio of fish and rice which I feel rolls have to much of. I shall be back for more

We travel to San Diego a bit and this was a favorite spot. I personally loved the short ribs and the coconut shrimp. They also have sushi. I feel that inflation has taken a toll on this place. They no longer carry these dishes. The had like a Mongolian bbq section that was horrible. It reminded me of spaghetti noodles with unseasoned overcooked veggies and meat. We were disappointed in this location and will never return
