We had a large table. About only 3 out 11 of us liked our food. Definitely weird twists to things. We also didn't really see our waitress much. Had to find other staff to ask for things. We figured it was cause gratuity was already added.. I don't think any of us would eat here again but it's definitely a pretty spot.

We had a really nice brunch for 4! Great atmosphere, the food was delicate and fresh. Service a little slow to star but there was no rush in great weather. Highly recommend for brunch!

Place is pretty. The food is on the saltier side. The gnocchi and the short rib was okay. I liked their chocolate chip cookie and almond milk though.

The food was incredible. We got several apps/small plates and we were very impressed. The cocktails were also fantastic and friendly service and atmosphere impressed us greatly. All around a wonderful experience!

Went here for one of my best friends birthday dinner as a group. Food was incredible. All of our dishes were prepared with care and the flavors were wonderful. The service was top notch too. Both the hostess and our waiter took impeccable care of us and made sure our needs were met throughout the night which was impressive considering that there were almost 12 of us. Food took a little while to get to us but I count that more against the fact that our party was so large. My only actual complaint would be the comfort of the chairs and table which is really just nitpicking since I'm 7ft tall and both were short for me. Overall it was a great experience and I plan to go back someday soon.

We had an excellent lunch at the small barn. A fabulous salad and smoked salmon sandwich. Based on the lunch we decided to cancel previous plans and make dinner reservations at the Small Barn. Unfortunately a rather underwhelming experience. My date ordered the roast chicken with pesto. The chicken was dry, but at the same time the skin was not crispy. It looked as though pesto sauce had been spooned over the chicken after cooking.I ordered the chioppino. The seafood was clearly fresh, but the preparation was clearly off. No trace of white wine, shallots, garlic or herbs in the sauce. The sauce was far too peppery, to the point that it hid the fresh flavour of the sea food. Such a disappointment. No knock on the wait staff or the setting. Both were terrific. Frankly though I am tired of paying premium prices for mediocre food. I'm also fed up of chef's using hot seasonings and excessive salt to hide poor preparation and fresh flavors. A shame really as the meal could have been so much better.

Small Barn is a nice casual restaurant with a festive atmosphere. We had a little trouble finding the restaurant, even though we parked out front, because no where on the building is the name of the restaurant. Unless we missed it, not there. Service was friendly, drinks were ok, Brussel sprouts made the whole meal!!! They were amazing. Burger was ok, Salmon 4.3 out of 5. Overall we had a nice time celebrating our anniversary here. They brought us a nice desert on the house!! Very nice.

For my husband birthday celebration we made a [email protected] pm and were very excited. It was ten of us! The server very sweet& polite. The service! Not good! First one of the guests which is vegan asked for cauliflower dish in the menu, they were out, the only option she offered was salad, she ordered salad with a piece of bread. All the other nine main dishes came & salad still wasn't ready.every one were almost done with dinner the manger came with salad, our guest was so upset that first refused to have the salad, but the piece of bread she requested next to her salad came when she was done. I ordered whole-fish for two people came with a plate full of greens& lettuce. All the green pieces were filled with dirt, after we showed to the server-she brought another plateBy the time the green plate was back we were done with fish because didn't want fish get cold. The steak was absolutely cold and we explained to the server didn't even offer to warm it up. We were still sitting that they turned the heaters off,Very disappointed. Autumn salad, the squash was very cold look like came out from freezer. Short rib was excellent.Caesar salad was good but the crouton was very oily.

Upon arrival at this beautiful space, expectations were high. The design and preservation of certain building aspects offset each other well. Market lights and chic rustic furniture pulled it all together for a fresh and airy New Californian vibe. I wish the plates we ordered were more in-line with the balanced atmosphere of this beautiful space. Hamachi Crudo starter arrived in a pool of heavily spiced coconut milk, overpowering the fish's natural brightness. I wondered if a lightly dotted drizzle of the sauce, which tasted like Thai green curry, would have been enough of an enhancement. Foraged Mushrooms were delicious, with a nutty, earthy flavor. But the Manchego cream sauce served alongside them was surprisingly bland, with none of the sharp pepperiness or smoke one might expect. Speaking of smoky, Brussels Sprouts were beautifully charred with melty, tender chunks of pork belly, but the usual nutty flavor was completely drowned out by the agave-based dressing, making the dish much too sweet. The Broiled Feta was served with a pretty garnish of edible petals. In similar fashion to the sprouts and crudo, the usual delicious salt and tang of feta was drowned out by honey. It almost might have been better as a dessert than a starter. Overall, very exciting ideas but that night, food was heavily masked with the sweet and the rich, without balance or space for natural flavors to come through ... unlike the design of the restaurant's pleasing aesthetic. Service was excellent, although the staff could be better educated about the cook staff.

We enjoyed lunch and the food was terrific. Our server gave great recommendations from the menu and we couldn't be happier with the quality, speed and taste of the food. It was a lunch but the place was packed and the vibe inside was great. Highly recommend trying this place out for lunch or dinner. We enjoyed two different types of pizzas, a salad and some drinks.

The cutest little spot! Very scenic surroundings too which was a bonus! We loved sitting on the porch. It was a bit chilly but thankfully there were plenty of heaters. Staff was friendly and accommodating.

This place is the cutest! My boyfriend and I are visiting from San Diego, and we're so happy we decided to check this place out for brunch. They have so many cool seating options, and the outdoor area is perfect for people watching. We were initially drawn to this place for the ube French toast, but ultimately decided on the farm quiche and the angus burger. The quiche was so nice and fluffy, and the bright salad dressing complimented the dish very well. The burger was also delicious - came with Parmesan fries and a truffle aioli that was so good that I even put some on my quiche. Staff was super friendly too! Definitely would love to come back to try more of the menu next time we're in town.

The Small Barn is in an excellent location right on Front street. The staff were excellent and cleanly trying to make our visit a positive experience. We were looking forward to our first visit based on reviews and recommendations from relatives. Unfortunately the one thing missing was the most important. Good quality food. I would not have minded the high cost if the food had measured up to the rest of the experience. It did not I we won't be back.
