Had drinks and apps everything was amazing
My wife and I celebrated our anniversary at The Gambling Cowboy, and it exceeded all expectations. The rustic charm, warm lighting, and cozy ambiance created a romantic atmosphere perfect for the occasion. We began our evening with two standout appetizers: the Brie Sachets—crispy, golden pastries filled with creamy brie and drizzled with a sweet glaze—and the Famous Cowgirl Kisses, which were smoky, bacon-wrapped jalapeños with just the right amount of heat. The bar staff was friendly and skilled; we both had handcrafted cocktails that were strong yet smooth and full of flavor. My wife’s drink had a floral finish with hints of citrus, while mine had a bourbon base that paired perfectly with the meal. For our entrées, my wife chose the Slow Braised Short Rib, which was melt-in-your-mouth tender, richly flavored, and served over a perfectly seasoned bed of mashed potatoes. I ordered the 72-Hour Blackened Ribeye, medium rare, and it was outstanding—juicy, flavorful, and seared with a perfect crust. The sides of mixed vegetables and loaded mashed potatoes balanced the dish well and were generously portioned. Service throughout the evening was attentive and sincere—our server made sure we were comfortable without being overbearing, and even wished us a happy anniversary with a complimentary dessert to cap off the evening. From start to finish, The Gambling Cowboy delivered a truly memorable dining experience. It’s the kind of place where food, atmosphere, and service come together beautifully. We’ll definitely be returning—and recommending it to friends and family.
Excellent good and service
Nice experience. The decor of this restaurant alone is worthy of the visit. We stopped for a mid-week lunch and were a bit overwhelmed by the menu selections as well as the very large dinner-sized portions. The quality of the food was reasonably a 5 star. We were early in the lunch hour and caught them not quite ready so the service a quite slow getting started close to a 3 star, but then quickly recovered and was responsive and friendly ending with a 5 star. Overall, a nice lunch was had by all and it will be a repeat location.
Always a great time at the Gambling Cowboy. The staff is always friendly and on top of it. They started us off with fresh bread and butter. We had the artichoke which was perfectly cooked and seasoned to start. Our main course was the chicken which was great with the veggies and I upgraded to a baked potato loaded with everything. We got the steak and fries that my daughter said was good. We got a chocolate cake for dessert to go and ate it at home because we were full and really wanted to try it. We were not disappointed.
my favorite place in Temecula.. I love Marion the prettiest bartender🩷 the food is excellent and everyone that works there is amazing!
Always amazing service and food. Best steakhouse in town!
The live music was nice, but too loud. Not very relaxing for dinner when you're seated near it.
This restaurant has a very unique style and ambiance that is a wonderful experience. The service is excellent, and special kudos to Jessie and Alyssa for making our eveining so memorable. (i'll be asking for them next time, too.) we had the prome rib, but everythin on the plate was fantastic, and every plate that went by our table was equally tantalizing. The portions are huge, so my wife and I split a 12 ounce prime rib, and STILL had leftovers! The meal was simply delicious, and yet at a surprisingly affordable price. We will be back!!
My husband and I were there to celebrate our 30th anniversary. The food was delicious we had the burrata appetizer, split the caesar salad. My husband had the halibut special and I had the filet. I brought with me a bottle of 2019 Montepulciano Reserve from Bottaia Winery in the Temecula Valley. Our waitress was friendly and efficient. Perfect Night!

Great experience!! Haven't been to the Gambling Cowboy for a while. Really enjoyed listening to live music in the private dining room. Acoustics were perfect and the overall atmosphere allowed everyone to enjoy chatting, a leisurely dinner and especially enjoying the very talented musician, Travis Guilliams. Service was outstanding.
Have been going there for years and always had awesome meals and service. But something has changed the last year, service has taken a dive and slow. I recently went in and ordered lobster as I always do took, over an hour to get and it came out cold figured we would give it one more chance went in last night. Ordered the Seabass without the risotto. Came out with the risotto told the waitress they said they would fix it took it back and came back with the same piece of fish thrown on a plate. Looked like it had been mashed with a fork. Also, my wife ordered her steak medium well which I know is hard for good cooks to do but that’s how she ordered it. It came out rare still bleeding. We are done with the place will never go back. Total shame we used to go there every Christmas Thanksgiving with a large party of people, but are moving on.
Based upon the recommendation from friends, we took the opportunity to have dinner at The Gambling Cowboy. We really enjoyed the cocktails (the High Noon is pictured) and the appetizers (the Cowgirl Kisses are not to be missed). My wife ordered a blackened ribeye, which was cooked to specification and delicious. I enjoyed the filet stroganoff. We'll be back!
I ordered the burger which was very disappointing. Honestly Chillies smash burger is way better! But my wife's and daughter's food was good!
There was not a large verity of STEAKS and took us 55min. to find a parking space. The restaurant has gone down hill!!!!!!! Had to sent my steak because it was COLD along with my bake potato!!!! Our 44th anniversary was a BIG BUST!!!!! The changes on the menu sucked!! Would not go there again and not recommend to our friends in our retirement community!!! Not worth the hassle!!!
