We enjoyed a delicious dinner at Thornton Winery. We shared the Cafe Champagne salad, which we both loved. For our entrees, we chose the filet mignon and the braised short rib. Both were excellent. Service could have been a bit more attentive, but overall, we had a very positive experience, and we would definitely return.
Celebrated my birthday with friends. We had a reservation, but frankly, the place was deserted on a Monday afternoon. They closed the Cafe Restaurant and seated us instead up on the patio outside the gift shop. It was a nice enough area. Our server was nice and knew the menu well. The champagne and wine flights were fun. The beverages were good. Two of us had the beef short rib in red wine sauce. Mashed potatoes and some young veggies were included. Very tasty meal. The location was beautiful looking over here vineyards. The service was very good, and it was a wonderful experience having never been to the Temecula wine country. The food was very enjoyable. The wine was disappointing. Having experienced the wines of Napa and Sonoma, Temecula has a way to go to meet wine expectations.
