We were looking to buy a cake and it was late at night. Luckily we got there at the last minute and was able to purchase a few things. They have some very cute cakes and baked items. Will definitely return during the day time to try some other things they have in the store.

I've been to Sunmerry Bakery before and I wasn't impressed with their selections but I decided to give it a try and this time, they had a much better selection. I was craving a cronut so I was really happy to see they had it in their rotation. I did like the custard filled one, it was light and flakey. I do wish there was more of the custard though. All the other bread were good and I loved their drinks as well. I will definitely be back next time I'm in the plaza.

Their bread is always fresh & delicious, my favorite has become the pudding breads for sweet & Tuna for something salty. Teas are always good especially the Jasmine Lemon Green tea.

My favorite place to get strawberry cake! I like the strawberry jam they have in between each layer instead of the fresh cream. The flan part is also very moist and tasty. The price is very reasonable for an 8 inch for $38. Although, they don't personalize writing, they do offer happy birthday sign and some candles & plates!

The black sesame mochi donut was the chewiest and creamiest I have ever had. Go here! The selection is not vast but what they offer is good desserts, cake slices, and upside down creme brulee buns which are all at good price points. A lovely bakery in a lovely area filled with all kinds of Asian goodies nearby!

Sunmerry has really upgraded packaging compared to other bakeries, but the baked goods quality is not consistently high enough for me to return as a regular. Packaging has been very smart - for cake slices, they'll give it to you in a container that folds up into handles. Longer cakes in the center open fridge come with ropes that allow you to simply carry out. They've also stopped giving out plastic bags and only use paper for regular purchases. This stood out to me as one of the better organized packaging I've seen. Breads vary in quality and taste. I enjoyed the green tea croissant for its subtle green tea taste and structure, but the green onion bread I thought tasted old (in freshness and in bread style). Sunmerry makes a very average green onion bread. Good for breakfast breads but I wouldn't go out of my way.

I wanted to love their drinks but something about them isn't quite right.. I like the fact they use cane sugar in some of their drinks, that's a huge plus for me. (Some drinks do have concentrated syrups though)I really enjoy the matcha croissant! Must try ?

I think the three pastries me and my boyfriend bought were old. We bought them Monday evening and ate them Tuesday morning. We both got uncomfortable stomach ache afterwards. I got the custard bun and pineapple bun and he got the savory onion one. I ended up throwing away the pineapple bun after not feeling well after eating the custard bun. The buns had started to spoil and should not have been sold. This place needs to get rid of their old buns instead of trying to sell them. I've been to other Sunmerry bakeries and didn't have this problem.

Got the cream puff cakes, Castilla cakes, and the Dirty chocolate croissants--all were heavenly. Some Taiwanese friends told me that in Taiwan, this brand is slightly higher than 85, I would agree and say their stuff is nicer, lighter, yet fluffier, subtle differences that are definitely noticeable in taste, while 85 is more like for everyday.
