I take my family to this lovely spot quite often! This is my favorite place to grab a bite. I go to this spot at least once a month. The meals are great, the team is helpful and the charge is decent. I like going in this spot to have a good meal.

Came here for a steak. They had a wonderful special. Steak, ribs, shrimp with all the goodies. Steak cooked perfect, ribs fell off the bone delicious and all the fixings. So full and still have left overs. The manager was awesome and Tyler our service was attentive. Place is really cool so many things to look at. Very rustic old country cowboy style. Will definitely be back

Waitress was wonderful. And did what she needed to do with a smile. What was not so great was the staff arguing loudly. Since we were sitting near the kitchen entry we can here it all. Plus one if the front entry staff was just on the phone not giving a care most of the time. Lighting was horrible. If you want to eat in the dark this is the place, most of the bulbs are burnt out here. it's been twice now we have eaten here and both times were not very good experiences. We still prefer AJs in Arroyo Grande hands down. To be clear though our waitress was great! That is the reason I gave it a 3 star or else it be 1 or 2 stars MAX.

Oh happy birthday to you... Based on most of the reviews, if your here celebrating your birthday you should think again!! We came here to celebrate a girlfriends birthday and receive the free b'day meal ($3.75). The host was beyond friendly and even helped me search for my party since I didn't know where they choose to sit. Once I found my group of friends I sat down to join them...within minutes the waitress was ready to take our orders. She looked irritated when I told her I need more time to check out the menu. After our food arrived she did not once come check on us. We sat there after we finished our food for at least 10 minutes until she finally came and asked to see how we're doing. Yet during her long absence I had to get up and ask the bartender for more water?!?! The bartender didnt even offer to find our waitress to see if we needed anything else. After her long absence she rudely asked if we wanted anything else yet my friend was entitled to live free birthday dessert. Why didn't she ask if my friend was ready for her birthday dessert?! When she brought the birthday dessert she didnt even clear our table?! We got to eat our dessert with our dirty dishes covering most of the table? I had to remove some of the plates so we could enjoy our dessert free of dirty dishes! When she dropped off our bill of at the table she didnt tell us if she was going to be our cashier. We had no clue who was going to take our money. Again she was absent so we got up to see who we needed to pay. Finally she appeared! Or maybe she thought we were going to walk out without paying?! Emily your service was unacceptable! Not how anyone wants to spend their birthday. Good job Emily

I used to love AJ Spurs, it was practically synonymous with the quality I grew up with loving from Madonna Inn as a lifelong local. Maybe it was an off night, I just thought for $100 between 2 people the food should have been better. Food was ok. Waiter was great. The only wow I got was from the food was the dessert root beer float. Good thing that's still on the money.

Must be having problems with cooks !!!! Stew was cold carrots and potatoes cold in the center wife couldn’t eat her steak that was salty daughter couldn’t eat ribs had funny taste. The only thing good was salad left hungry and cost over $80 dollars to have food taken back and eat a salad. One star because I have to put one up

Whoa! What an awful dining experience! My boyfriend and I decided to head to AJs for a kid free night. We planted our behinds in the bar and proceeded to look forward to a nice evening out. Boy, we're we wrong! The service was complete crap! We watched two parties of five + LEAVE because they weren't being served. We ordered a couple of beers and fries but never received our fries and the beers were poured slower than molasses. We overheard the bartender blaming the size of the moon on the level of crazy customers. Clearly she was deflecting because the amount of people complaining (literally everyone in her area) about the complete lack of service was due to poor management - not the planetary alignment. All of us customers were looking around at each other wondering what the hell was going on. It was a compete s*** show. Now, I'm out fries and writing this negative review. 10/10 would NOT recommend this place. It's sad too because the place itself has potential to be PACKED on a Sunday night of a three day weekend. Instead, there was a mass exodus of pissed off patrons. We will not be going back - and we live one block away!

Then waited to be greeted then waited for water, the soup was not ready. Then watched the table next to us receive each stage of their meal. Okay, so let's start, we went to AJ Spurs in Solvang, last night 02/15 - highly recommend so we're road tripping and come to Paso Robles, we ask for a good steak house & they recommend McPhee's- so we're like cool let's go, we show up and there's a wait, no biggie we get a bottle of wine, we look over the menu & decide for the price AJ RIGHT next door is a better deal.. save 30$ each on a steak- we call there's no wait, finish the wine we go next door. Immediately greeted with a 15 minute wait, she says go to the bar we'll grab you when you're tables ready, so we're like okay let's do it, nbd- even after reading the terrible reviews. We go to bar & sit, wait for our bartender, time rolls by not greeted- finally I interrupt the busy bartender with 3 people at bar & ask for an 805, she immediately says "it'll be a minute" no big deal, you're busy, get me when you can. Two workers come up & complain OUTLOUD that there is no more soup (beef stew) because the person that emptied last didn't refill.. yikes. Another lady comes to the bar FROM HER TABLE to the bar and orders drinks.. I'm assuming because she couldn't get service at her table..... waits for 7-10 minutes, husband comes up and asks why she's waiting there, finally gets her drinks... mhm, again, yikes. She comes and serves me, asks if I want to cash out then, yes please!!! Then grabs a $10 bill left previously by someone else at the bar top & brings me the change... ok sure I feel weird about it, BUT it's a free beer & it's her mistake. Meanwhile 30 minutes has rolled by & no table, Eff this we're out. We're headed out to leave- tell the host we're meeting friend elsewhere & she says "okay sorry" ... sorry for what?? Thanks for the free beer, the interesting lack of service & the stain on the AJ name.. Yikes. Don't waste your time until the restaurant is under better management. Lol.

Wtf happened to AJ Spurs? My family and I have been coming to Paso every Presidents Weekend for 20+ years for Western Bonanza. We have NEVER missed coming to AJ Spurs during those weekends. I can't say that we'll ever be back after the s*** show that was tonight. Look, I was a server for 7 years. I understand when you're busy that service is going to be slow. There was hardly anyone there but the service was incredibly slow. Like, AWFUL. Three other families complained while we were there about the terrible service and overcooked food. We weren't there long enough to see if our food was overcooked since it took so long for two orders of Twin Peaks that we left. Safe to say my memories of a better AJ Spurs are all I have left of this once delicious, friendly restaurant.

Food was great but the service wasn't good. The reservation was at 7p and we weren't out til 10p. The appetizers took forever and they were cold. Sad part is it was my friends birthday. Oh also to mention the cocktail waitress had an attitude being in retail myself I told her to add the drinks to my final bill she threw a fit twice till we told our server she was rude... she didnt show her face all after that.
