My husband ordered the tri tip dinner, it was barely warm, over cooked, tough and dry, the “garlic” bread was smothered in cheese, just not good. Did not eat it, did not need a doggy bag. The Rueben my sister ordered was pretty good. I don’t even remember what I ordered, just that I only ate a few bites. Not a good experience. In the past, I have had nice lunch at Jack’s, salads are pretty good, hoping this was just an off night.

We drove in from out of town and picked up dinner here. A lot of places downtown were closed for the holidays but this is one of the ones that was open. Great place. The French dip was delicious.

Nice service, great Peanut Butter Old Fashioned is a must try! We did not eat there just stopped in for a drink. Next visit will try the food.
Food has always been delicious here. We frequent this place on regular basis. Last time we went, server was ok, but did not ask how we like our burger cooked, did not tell us there was a charge to split my hamburger and ahi tuna salad. My husband and I each ordered an entree and told our server we were going to split it. She said, ok. The food came and it was all delicious but burger was well done. I like mine medium but did not say anything to our server. I figured she was new and it was tasty so I just ate it. The bill came and there was a split charge of $11.00 for splitting the ahi salad and the burger. I asked the server why was there charges for splitting food? She told me that is the way it is. We have been there before and server split our food and we never were charged extra for it. I said, this must be a new rule and she said no it was not. I just wished she would have told us and I could have cut my own hamburger. Also, they do need to do something about the flies in the patio area. That did make it quite unpleasant to eat swatting flies.

Was there last night 9/9. First visit, Had a party of 5.
The hostess not Great. And the server also not great. And I will get into details.
FOOD: Order a prime rib sandwich. As soon as it came out it seemed off I had to dismantle my sandwich. Cause I’m pretty sure it was not prime rib looked and tasted like tri tip. It also had grill marks like it’s been thrown on a grill and even if it was prime rib that’s not how you serve it. Should be rare and baked not grilled well done. There was also as much fat as there was meat. Big ol pieces of blubber, I even had the host come look at it and he couldn’t identify the meat either. Clueless. I will attach photos. I spoke to the waitress and she said “ that’s how it is it’s a fatty meat”. I did not eat the sandwich.
The other person in my party ordered just a tri-tip had some of it there some to go. She felt sick later that night and threw up, we just decided to throw out the rest of the meat.
Some of the food was good and edible, the pork ribs, and the burger
PAYMENT: So fast forward to paying bill. I asked a few questions about the food. And how I felt. As I was paying with cash and card. The male hostess then turned to the rest of my party of 4. And said “he will not let this go will he?” I shared with him that when the bill is $170 dollars and I didn’t even eat the food cause it was not edible.the waitress then said “it was only bread on the plate hon” I told her no the onions the meat and the fat alll still there. She did comp my food only. At the end. I ask a few questions. As I paid with my card. The female server. Grabbed the card machine right after I removed my card. looks at me and said “you didn’t leave a tip on here”. I acknowledged her and said that’s correct. I’m going back to the table. We’re not leaving immediately and we have cash. I shared that information with the rest of my party and based on the waitresses performance, we all decided not to leave a tip. We got up from our seats, exited in a quiet fashion, and the female server was at the table, lifting up every napkin, salt shaker anything on the table, looking for a cash tip and then asked one of the people in my party. Where is the tip? Apparently, Money is all that that’s on her mind
In the photo the prime rib on the right and the fat on the left. Needless to say, unlikely to be back, based on the waitress and staff there. I hope this comes across as constructive criticism. I’m not trying to just bash the place.

BRO!!! We found this place on a total lark. We were actually planning to eat across the street (super cute spot with a fire pit), but the menu just wasn’t calling to us. So, we wandered over to Jack’s—and thank goodness we did.
I ordered the ribeye steak burger with a fried egg and roasted jalapeño on top, and I swear I was high on food. I’ve never had that experience before in my life—absolutely insane flavor. If you go, you HAVE to try it.
The kids devoured the chicken strips, we also tried the shrimp pasta, tri-tip salad, and a few other dishes—and every single one was way beyond our expectations.
This place is a hidden gem in Templeton. Cozy vibe, knockout food. 10/10 recommend.

Big mistake to sit outside on patio. It was evening about 5:30. Tons of FLIES. It is so bad they even have these little towers that have a fan on them to try to keep them from your food. The food was excellent. We had 4 people. Two got tri-tip sandwiches , shrimp tacos, and a pulled pork sandwich. All tasted delicious. But the FLIES took away any enjoyment. The staff come in and out of doors that lead inside so I'm pretty sure the flies are in there also. They seriously need to do more to get rid of them . They blame it on the Grainery going down but that's not true. I know this because I've been here before when the Grainery was still up and they still had a fly problem but now it does seem worse.
