Ended up choosing the Cajun pasta which had a nice amount of spice. Some guy next to me ordered it with bacon which I thought was a good alternative. Decent bar selection with a very good bartender. Unfortunately I didn't catch her name but she's a feisty one. Lol. Only had 3 meat items for the BBQ. Kind of thought they would have more to choose from but hopefully it's done well. Good spot overall in a good easy to get to location

When Jack's is good, it's really good and when it's bad ... it's awful. It's a total crap shoot which you get. Tonight was in the awful category. Picked up a Tri-tip sandwich and fries. Should have gone to Albertsons and picked up a bag of frozen fries and their deli Tri-tip. The sandwich from Jack's was not the thick, juicy, med-rare cuts on a grilled French role as seen in many of the photos here. It was thin slices, dry, tough, and one notch above jerky. It wasn't even sliced across the grain - it was sliced with the grain making it even tougher. Rookie mistake. The role was plain and buttered, definitely not grilled. The fries tasted like they were made yesterday, refrigerated overnight and reheated - dried out and chewy. Even the cole slaw was wilty. I so want to like this place. Their other restaurants are consistently good and some of my favs, but not this one. They really have a quality issue at Jack's in Templeton and it's been a problem for at least a couple of years now. I used to take all our friends here and got take out all the time. Now it's a scary proposition and the last place I take guests.

Just had my first experience here with my friend Joe he's suggested we eat lunch there and split a Prime Rib sandwich and the waiter Diego said that they have a special where they split the sandwich and give each person a nice side of very delicious fries that were off the chain. The Prime Rib sandwich was so tender mouth watering and seriously, the best prime rib I ever had. I'm sure we'll be going back very soon. Thanks Diego for the fabulous service too.

This place is the real deal. More restaurant than bar. The service was outstanding. I had the French dip and it was the best French dip I have ever had. It's in an older building with some character for sure. They also have a nice cocktail menu. I will be back again soon!!

First off, I really do love this place. After years of going to Jacks I was shocked at the service from a female bartender that was there last Sunday. Went there to watch the football game, which they didn't and apparently couldn't put on. I come up to the bar and the bartender doesn't greet me but tosses a menu in front of me without a word. Then I said there would be two of us and still, not a word. Not even a smile. I have never had this happen there but I have noticed customer service everywhere lately lacking. So I decided it's time to start posting reviews and maybe managers will start to do something. We pay a lot of money these days to go out and eat and drink and I feel the customer service should be better. I'm a small business owner myself and if I treated customers this way I'd be out of business. Anyway, my friend got there and we ended up leaving for two reasons, the game wasn't going to be played and the lack of customer service from the bartender. We did go to one of their sister restaurants that day. I hope this won't be a continuing thing and hopefully they talk to the staff about being friendly. It's part of their job.

Went back to Jack's for one of their REALLY GOOD salads. Unknowingly sat next to an employee/management meeting. Two of the four has some strong feelings (talking $#!%) about their co-workers and/or subordinates. The bartender did her job for the most part, but was SLOPPY about all of it. I didn't have a drink, thankfully, and won't unless someone else is covering.Really disappointed in the lack of care and professionalism. They need to take some lessons from the staff and management at Barley & Boar, which has the same owners. I'm hoping they can correct these concerns.

Food is fabulous. Service depends on the server. You will always see someone you know. A great local establishment. Breadsticks Critique... get a new soda distributor the tonic is always out or flat.

Right place at the right time. It was my husband's birthday. He wanted to go Nardines, but they are out of business. In the second choice, he wanted Griffs, so we went. Griffs is jut down the road from Jack's. We entered at 6:30 pm. A girl who looked like she just woke up told us they could make food, but it was take out only. Of course, for my husband's birthday, that was not sufficient, especially in the one restaurant he requested. So we drove 2 blocks and were greeted with smiles and open arms. The food was amazing, and the service was even better. We are grateful that we were treated so poorly at Griffs. Now we have a new go-to spot. We gladly spent $180+$36 tip for a restaurant where we felt welcomed and appreciated. Thank you, Jack's! We already frequent many of your establishments, so it's no surprise that you save the evening. Thank you! We will be back!
