Haven't given a 5 star in a while but it's very well deserved. Very good service topped on an absolutely delicious meal. Great job with the contrasting flavors on the chicken sandwich that made every bite better and better. I hope the rest of the menu is like that as I look forward to trying something else.

We arrived with at 815 ready to try a new place with a baby. We usually eat as fast as we can and go. Stood there for a while then somebody came and we stated it was 2 of us and he had to go to the kitchen to verify. He came out and said it would be a 15 minute wait even though they only had two tables of people. As a server myself obviously they felt we weren’t important enough to snuff us off. This is a disservice because we are locals and we just went across the street where we always know they have great service and good food. We got our meal within 10 minutes. Not a good thing to snuff locals. Horrible service and we were trying to.check out a new place but obviously we were too late to be served even though they close at 9. Do not go here beware.

Great restaurant! Amazing atmosphere and setting! You are practically in a cowboy ski bar with all the attributes and accessories on the walls. Location 18th century ?. Western movies on the monitors. Cruel!?

Pig Iron is solid. Located downtown Templeton. Pig Iron has inside and outside seating. Inside is like a restaurant divided into three. One side, an old west dine in bar. The middle is waiting, kitchen in the back and merch. Then the third is dinning. It was raining, so inside. My party was greeted by multiple people. The wait was very short. I ordered the House Lemonade, Onion Rings, Veggie Burger with Fries, and Carrot Cake. First, I really liked the lemonade. Not too sweet and not too tart. The Onion Rings maybe the best around. They are crunchy with a good salty grit, but moist onion inside. The fries on the other hand were cool because it was different, but lacked any soft, fluffy, potato inside. The veggie burger was pretty good. They make the patty in house and you can tell. Moist and veggie crunch. The bun was nice and soft. The grilled onions were a great touch, love that onion sweetness. Now for the Carrot Cake. I was bummed they didn't have their cheesecake, so I settled, or so I thought. The Carrot Cake was so decadent, fresh veggie, moist cake, sweet fatty cream cheese frosting, goodness, that it's the best one I've had outside of my Mother's. Great Job. Our server who was in the Check-in pic, was great. Thanks for making up for the cheesecake from the time before. *Get Fountain Coke*

Came to the Pig Iron for the first time and had brunch. The service, while friendly, was lacking but the food was fantastic! I had the waffurrito and my wife had the green eggs and ham quiche with a delicious side salad. Definitely recommend this restaurant in downtown Templeton.

Went for a small Christmas party with 10 other people. Yvette was our server and she was amazing. Everything went so smoothly and she had a delightful personality. The food was great and I'm looking forward to trying a cocktail the next time I go.

I am in town for business so I looked up a good local restaurant. I was so excited to try this place as the reviews said it was so good. Arrived at the restaurant to find the cutest and coziest little place. So far so good. Having high expectations for this place. We were seated immediately. The server was prompt and friendly. He knew the menu well and was able to answer any questions we had. My husband ordered the ribs as everyone reviewed them as moist and delicious. I ordered the house salad with chicken as all the pics made it look so good. The wait for the food was not very long at all, maybe 10 minutes. This should have been a red flag. After the food arrived I could tell my husband did not like the ribs as he was barely touching them. Come to find out after we left they were cold, rubbery and not even cooked all the way. As for my salad , the actual salad part was fine but the chicken in it was cold and tough and stink badly and reminded me of cheap bagged chicken. The entire meal tasted like it was cheap bagged food that was served to us cold. A TERRIBLE experience with the absolute WORST food I have ever had in my entire life. $45 for food that was NOT eaten. Service was good though. I would NOT return to this place. Yelp reviewers you sure got this one WRONG!! Save yourself the time and money and AVOID this place like the plaque!!!!!Parking: The only parking is on the street

Bruh, the cocktails are dope, the food is great, and the building is a repository of local history. Servers are friendly and professional. Can't ask for much more. Try their loaded fries. I thought I had tried every shape of french fry on earth. I was wrong.

Cocktails were interesting and well prepared and the service was genuinely friendly without being overbearing so good points there. The delicata squash donut appetizer was an interesting concept that was decent but has room from improvement. The squash could be cut more thinly to ensure it is nice and tender while not being too heavy and the aoili/ sauce on top needs to be more plentiful or some other bright/acidic element added. We had the smoked pork tacos which were pretty solid but could go one step further with some pickled onion.I had the ribs with the house sauce which honestly were disappointing. If they had been smoked, it was undetectable and they were nowhere near fall off the bone. They struck me as individually grilled ribs with a sweet glaze. If not for the glaze I’m not certain they would have much flavor. For the sides the corn bread was mid and would have been nicer warmed, the coleslaw was fine and the beans while well flavored were undercooked.Overall 3 stars good 4.5 stars beverage.I’d go back for cocktails and snacks but not desperate to have dinner again.

Service, atmosphere, and drinks were amazing! Food was good but could've been a little better. The BLT with an egg and avocado needed a little more flavor. My husband loved the pork, but the beans needed something. The stone fruit caprese appetizer was delicious. We will try it again when in the area.

My second time! I love the food there but I was disappointed that you're out of s'more dessert. I'm from Bay Area. Please try to have all in stock next time. I won't be back until spring.

Stopped in for brunch. The coffee was really good fresh and hot, which is a must for any good brunch. I believe she said it was from spearhead coffee. The food has a unique spin on traditional items, but they have really done a good job at making it their own. Presentation of dishes is well executed. Would like to see a house-made hot sauce with some kick & less sweetness. Outdoor seating is really nice especially if you have a dog or Big group. The service was good. They have put together a really good vibe and menu I would recommend and would like to try dinner here some day to update my review.
