Terrible experience in Diar Market this afternoon. I am a loyal customer of many years. This was the first time visiting the store in the afternoon. The owner was not there and the lady with long pony tail was very combative, rude, and disrespectful. She did not like that I asked about the expiration on the whey product, and about the functionality of a clear teapot plus the warmer that I was interested in. She said you are asking too many questions with a loud voice, facial gestures, and enormous and embarrassing rudeness. Another customer left three items on the counter, she picked the items up and told the customer, "next time grab a basket, I have food here". Nothing like can you please grab a basket or even a dash of respect or courtesy. People who shop here are familiar with the setting and presentation of fresh cooked food on the counter; there was no need for her to address the gentleman with such condescending tone:( Almost like talking to a toddler.) I ended up purchasing over $170 in two separate receipts, she rushed the first receipt that I could not even take advantage of my reward, but I did get the reward on the second receipt. My husband did not appreciate the experience in Diar Market today. He was very upset at the combative, rude and disrespectful experience with this lady. I probably should have dropped the purchases and left. But I thought a yelp review will help the owner to address the issue. She definitely was a different person in the absent of the owner. So sad:(

Although I've known Diar market for a long time. I shop here very seldomly because this market has very limited ethnic items, it mostly serves the Persian community. Imho, if they had various international goods they would be more successful. Also recently, the first time, I bought some chicken and beef, both had a terrible stench when I got home. I didn't even bother taking it back because of the lack of customer service reviews on Yelp, at least $15 worth of meat went to trash. What a disappointment! It's a shame. I understand it's a small business serving our community however customer service makes it or breaks it!

I went to the Market side of the business because I wanted some spices for Mediterranean food. I found what I needed with help from the woman at the register. That's when I saw this tortilla shaped pastry. She told me that it's a dessert so I got one and it was delicious!

All the employees are very respectful and attentive, especially Sophia. I feel very accepted and comfortabl. The owner is also very kind and thoughtful to each costumer. I always have an amazing meal and I enjoy the wonderful service.

Best Persian food I've ever had. My favorite and go-to spot anytime I have a craving for kabobs!!!

Since my last review, the location has changed owners. Sadly, the customer service has declined due to this change. Also, the produce section has less items than before. They often run out of meat, so I suggest calling ahead to order any meat items in advance. The restaurant continues to serve awesome food. It is primarily for take out and catering as there are only a few tables outside. It can get busy on the weekends. Parking is never an issue.

It's so good to have a middle eastern market close by when you run out things the food is really good

Excellent persian market! They have everything we need so we can avoid driving all the way to Encino. All employees are very nice. Also, the owner is extremely nice and helpful.

I love this place. The lamb kabob and chicken kabobs a delightful. The rice is perfect and very authentic. The sauces are on point as well. Service is always friendly and everything is so fresh. I highly recommend this place if you're in the area.

Been coming here for years. Last time was last week. Delicious takeout and nicely stocked little store. Very nice and quick service. Food tastes fresh with quality and big portions. Pricey but worth it. My husband can always tell when I bring home Persian food from elsewhere. He's a big fan of Diar too!

So disappointing, my first taste of their food. The naan bread is like rubber with bumpy texture, the saffron rice tasteless, and the eggplant brown and lifeless. Whatever meat they included with the Ghemeh Bademjan was overcooked and strange. The "spices" must have been old because the whole dish was tasteless, lifeless, bad texture and ugly brown color. I wanted to love this, but it is not mouth watering.

The new ownership keeps hiking prices. The prices compared to other stores for same products is so much different that driving the extra 15 minutes is worth it. If thats not bad enough the guy (owner) will increase prices at the register while checking you out. You wont find out unless you double check every single item you bought. Very unethical and deceptive. The food used to be good. But now they cut a lot of corners and the quality reflects it. Youve been warned. Save your money

A nice cozy Persian supermarket for making trips to daily to make delicious Iranian dishes

Very delicious Mediterranean food. I got a complete meal with lamb/beef with my favorite rice with saffron. The little grocery store they have offers multiple selections of items that you cannot find in your local grocery store. The owners are beyond kind considerate and very pleasing of having the food ready quickly. I recommend Diar Kitchen
