I don’t say this lightly, but Hot Mother Clucker serves the best fried chicken I’ve ever had in my life. Yes, better than Dave’s Hot Chicken. Better than Howlin’ Ray’s. And the best part? It’s 100% Halal — so you can dig in with full confidence and zero compromise.

From the first bite, you know it’s different. The chicken is juicy, perfectly seasoned, and fried to crispy perfection without being greasy. Their spice levels are on point — flavorful without overwhelming the taste of the actual chicken. You can taste the quality and the care that goes into every piece.

The sandwich? Unreal. Crunchy on the outside, tender on the inside, stacked with fresh pickles and their signature sauce that hits just right. It’s crave-worthy. And if you’re into tenders or wings, you’re in for a treat too — everything on the menu is consistently fire.

What really sets Hot Mother Clucker apart is that they don’t just ride the hype. They deliver. Every. Single. Time.

If you’re on the hunt for top-tier fried chicken that’s Halal, local, and legit — Hot Mother Clucker is it. No question.

We we’re on our way to the Bank of America Civic Arts Plaza in Simi Valley and made a stop at Mother Cluckin Chicken—oh my God, what an experience! The food was insanely good. I ordered the chicken nuggets with medium spice, and they were absolutely perfect—just the right amount of kick and flavor. I even had the chance to meet the manager and the cook, and everyone there was so warm and welcoming. Hands down, this is one of the best chicken spots I’ve ever been to. You’ve earned every bit of this 5-star rating!

- TRAIN YOUR STAFF ON FOOD ALLERGIES -
On July 8 2025 I called the restaurant and a man answered the phone. I told him my husband has a peanut and tree nut allergy and asked if they used any peanut oil or have nuts in the restaurant. He confidently said “no” and we ended the call. That night we decided to eat somewhere else, so we didn’t go.
Flash forward to today, and I was going to pick up a sandwich for my husband. I walked in and decided I’d ask just to double check. The lady said “we do use peanut oil”. I was horrified.
If I had gone off of what the man said on the phone, my husband would not be here today. He has a deadly peanut allergy and reacts to peanut oil even if it’s refined. This is absolutely unacceptable and your staff needs to be trained on the seriousness of food allergies and not to take it lightly.

Chicken is super Greasy!!!! Made me full sick after having one bite I ended up throwing the whole meal away… you have the guy at the front counter picking at the fries that the cook has on her counter that is going into ppls meals…. Keep in mind he’s dealing with cash, cards and he’s touching the food with no gloves…. Never again….

#3 chicken on toast. Fun fact hot chicken was invented in Nashville but I just got back from Nashville and they don't have anything on this place.

So excited to have a hot chicken place in TO. I had this chicken for the first time during covid during the height of the lock downs there was a comedy show at a car wash after hours like 10pm to 2am totally underground status. Well they had a grill and cooked hot chicken. Just found out that car wash chicken stand has developed into this place.

Great memories, some of the funniest comedy ever at the car wash mid to late 2020, and now I get to have the bomb chicken anytime. So happy I found this place on a random google search of what's open late near me. And they open till midnight even on Sunday.

Great food and reasonable prices and a funny name!!!

Extremely disappointed and upset with our order. We had previously order from this establishment and enjoyed it enough to order again. We placed our order shortly before closing through food delivery service app. Our order was completely covered in whatever spice/chile/seasoning used to add heat to menu items to an unreasonable level that left our meal inedible and suspicious of being intentional. Would not recommend ordering shortly before closing at risk a potentially upsetting those that handle your food. Cluck this place.

I don’t eat hot chicken often, but when I crave it, I crave it hard—like a pregnant lady on a mission. Living in Agoura, options are slim and I hate driving over the hill, so I was excited to see a Nashville-style spot open up nearby in Thousand Oaks.

I ordered the #7 Nashville Fry Up (medium spice), my wife got the #5 Tender Nuggets (country style, no heat), and my father-in-law went with the #4 Filthy Fries.

The chicken tenders were…fine. The seasoning was solid and the crust tasted great—crunchy and flavorful—but the breading didn’t stick to the chicken at all. As soon as I cut into it, the crust fell apart and ended up all over my fries. Not the worst thing flavor-wise, just messy and a little disappointing.

The Filthy Fries were exactly what they sounded like—over-the-top in a good way—but nothing mind-blowing. My wife’s country-style nuggets tasted like something we could’ve air-fried at home. Not bad, just not $15-worthy.

We were the only ones in the restaurant (Monday around 4pm), and it still took about 10–15 minutes for our food, which makes me wonder what the wait would be like during peak hours. Service felt a little off too—I tried to make small talk and it just landed awkwardly.

I want to give this place another shot because it’s close and has potential, but overall, it was just okay. Not a bad option if you’re in the area, but probably not worth a long drive just yet.
