What keeps me from returning monthly to my nearest Islands restaurants is the unfavorable "value" proposition. Have a look at something simple like Onion-Rings or a BLT - - no longer in my food-budget

The food may be good. I don't know because it was so cold I couldn't stay. Freezing. I'll try at lunch time some time. 7:30 on a Wed night too cold.

We are long time, infrequent customers of the Newbury Park Islands Restaurant and have noticed a gradual decline in both food quality and service. Yesterday's visit is a good example. Wife ordered the Big Wave with the hamburger grilled to medium-well. But server delivered a rare to medium-rare hamburger. Wife sent the hamburger back again requesting the hamburger at medium well. 25 minutes later, I was finished eating and she had not yet received her meal. After another 15 minutes of waiting, we left the restaurant with her Big Wave in a to-go box. When we got home wife noticed her hamburger was burnt and un-edible, and discarded it. Their prices are very high now - 2 Big Waves, 2 soft drinks, tax and tip is about a $50 tab. Paying that much for 2 hamburgers and 2 soft drinks certainly deserves better service and food quality than what we received. We will not be back.

We've been coming to this place for years now and we've seen the quality of ingredients steadily decline, but the service never has. They have a great team working here and the service is top notch. There's such a chill atmosphere here, from the music to the decorations you feel at ease from the moment you walk in. The burgers used to be great, but over time they've gone downhill. The fries are still the same and they have a golden crunchiness on the outside with a soft flavorful inside. The ranch here is can't miss, it's really good. The parking is always easy at this location.

Had a to go order of buffalo wings and tortilla soup. Their wings haven't been as appetizing as in the past. They're kind of undercooked/pink and sometimes you're given a bone with not even half of it with meat and they fully count it as one wing. I couldn't finish them, they tasted soggy & dry at the same time oddly. The tortilla soup also had little to no flavor. Tastes more like water than a soup and they give you barely a handful of chips on the side. Feeling nauseous after eating.

If you would like a solid burger in a family style restaurant look no further. Islands has been around forever. Good if you have a baby on a warm day. Sit outside,

Get ready for the lawsuit of a century for denying service and comfort to a disabled/handicap blind person. The disrespect of our hometown weekend dinner establishment is astounding. The manager Jared this evening informed us we are unable to be served inside because of my father in laws guide dog which is protected and covered under the Americans with Disabilities Act. Jared is not only uneducated with this knowledge but extremely rude. By law you may not discriminate against any one with an ACTUAL disability. Not only is The dog trained to settle under the table quietly but is the ONLY WAY my father in law (who is completely blind) can get around safely. Extremely disappointed in your establishment and managerial staffs lack of knowledge in such a sensitive situation. Shame on you! You lost a lifelong customer illegally.
