We visited Panera in Janss market today and my husband found 2 gnats in his salad, needless to say, it killed his appetite. After reading the other reviews, I can see this is a common issue. Where is the management?

First of all the place isn't clean. We usually love Panera, but this location in Moorpark is dirty, the service is usually poor and out of the 4 times we've been here, they have been out of baguettes 3 times (??) Today... they were out of chips(???) We always discuss whether or not we should stop at this location- but the next is about an hour away....we should have waited.
I asked for a mug for my hot tea and as he gave it to me he was wiping something off, but gave it to me anyway (!!!) He was already annoyed because I asked for a couple of changes to the salad I was ordering, so I took the cup with the intention of washing it with the hot water for tea. Guess what - it was lukewarm. I had to microwave my water.
There were gnats flying around our food.
My husband's food was good but hard to enjoy because the place is so dirty. My salad wasn't great and the baguettes tasted off.

I honestly hate leaving reviews like this, but this Panera Bread in the Janss Marketplace really needs some attention. I’ve been here a few times hoping things would improve, but it just keeps getting worse.

First thing you notice when you walk in is how dirty everything feels. The floors had trash and food scraps all over. Tables were sticky and left uncleaned for way too long. It just makes you wonder if anyone is actually checking on the dining area.

What really bothered me was all the little gnats flying around everywhere. They were by the soda machine, in the bathroom, and even hovering around the tables. It’s pretty gross to see bugs circling over pastries and cups and just floating around while you’re trying to eat.

The service was so slow it felt like nobody was in any hurry to help customers. There weren’t many people in line, but it still took about 20 minutes to get my food. When it finally came out, it looked carelessly thrown together.

The bathroom was honestly awful. It smelled terrible, like old sewage. There was toilet paper all over the floor and the sink area was a mess. The soap dispenser was leaking everywhere. It was the kind of bathroom you just try to get in and out of as fast as you can.

It’s sad because Panera is supposed to be a comfortable place to grab lunch or coffee, but this location feels completely neglected. It almost feels disrespectful to the customers that nobody seems to care how bad it has gotten.

I really hope the company steps in and does something because it shouldn’t be this hard to keep a restaurant clean and welcoming. Until then, I’d recommend going somewhere else.

I'll NEVER eat here again. Picked up a sandwich and soup for lunch. I paid $25 for a sandwich that was mostly bread ($15) and cup of soup ($10) I don't mind paying for good food, but when you drop $25 on lunch, you'd expect a little bit more than what they delivered. NEVER AGAIN

I really only go to panera for a drink and a bagel and to work on my laptop. I have been to a lot of different paneras.
This particular one, for some reason, had the smallest bagels out of all the paneras I have been to. Usually the cream cheese given is just enough to put on the bottom half with just a tiny amount on the top half, but these bagels here, I was able to spread an equal amount on both top and bottom. Sort of feels like they are cutting corners a bit to maximize profits at this location. If you make all the bagels and other pastries that are made on site with just a little bit less dough, you can make more of these items with the same amount of ingredients. Just very disappointing to know that some stores do this sort of thing.
Two stars because there are a couple of outlets in the location for me to plug in my laptop.
I will avoid ordering any food from here in the future.

Very rude customer service ordered a bagel ahead of time went there after 10 mins they made me wait another 10 minutes keep in mind for a bagel and also ordered a drink right there asked the guy to give me the cup so I can fill my drink a red hair rude african america women comes and intrupts telling him no he has to wait even tho I just need a cup so if you don't like being disrespected and treated rudely don't ever go here. Even their own employees are being miss treated by the african American lady (owner) and other african Americans they have as manager. I used to order before they come and they were super nice but the new team is just trash.

Panera is Panera, right? But today's breakfast was excellent in every way; fresh, hot food, fast, friendly service. A great way to start our day!

My family and I stopped by this Panera bread to get some coffee and pastries. The place was extremely warm inside, no one at the registers and when an attendant finally came, he was talking on the phone and asked us to give him a minute. So far, everything was okay. We ordered 1 iced coffee and 1 hot coffee. When we got our cups, we went to get iced coffee but it smelled funny so I lifted the lid from the container just to find but the coffee literally had mold. We told the staff and the woman in charge had the audacity to try to fight me back and tell me they change the coffee daily, clearly not the case. The coffee from the hot containers was COLDDD and I had to warm it up in the microwave myself, lol. The same woman, again, told me they were closing in an hour and they were not going to make a new batch. We got a refund for both coffees but this was by far the worst experience we have ever had at a Panera. Customer service sucked ass, atmosphere was uncanny af and obviously, the drinks were so bad. We will contact corporate since these people clearly don’t care.

14$ for a meal that looked like a kids meal! No drink included!! If I could post a photo I would. Don’t get me started on my salad. It was petty and small for another 13$ no drink either!! The amount you charge for the quantity of food you give is crazy!!! And your manager at the Thousand Oaks area was ghetto and unprofessional!

I visited the Panera in Thousand Oaks this morning, and unfortunately, it was a very disappointing experience. The customer service was poor, and the associates were extremely unfriendly.

Nicole, the manager, along with another young associate, refused to sell me pastries in the catering box. I needed several pastries for a breakfast I was hosting, and they already had them ready to go. However, Nicole insisted she couldn’t accommodate my request.

It was incredibly frustrating, especially since I was on a tight schedule. Now, I’m having to drive to another breakfast place to get what I needed—something that could have easily been handled with a little more effort and customer service.

Meh.. this is definitely the slowest Panera I have been to. The mobile orders are never done when promised. Even if the app says its ready, it never is. The workers are friendly, but seem to be very slow. I use the app because I don't want to wait in line, but every single time I have to wait in line because my order isn't ready, and they wait to gather items until I get to the register. The location in Westlake village and also Simi valley have the orders ready when you arrive, or when the app says so. Not sure why the Thousand Oaks location can't do that. The food is good, though.
