Side Street has the best breakfasts!! Like home cooking but at a chefs home! I love it there every time! The owners are super nice! The service is top notch. It is a bit crowded they really pack them in there. And it's amazing how fast the service is in every way. The food is the freshest quality ingredients. I highly recommend. It's a lovely hidden gem.

Was a rainy day and still busy. Shows how people love this place. Food was decent and had some great breakfast. Wait wasn't too long and we were served very quickly. Perfect for a Saturday morning.

Another great recommendation from Yelpers led us to the Side Street Cafe. We were greeted as soon as we walked in and promptly sat at our table. Order was taken and before I could say I hope it doesn't take long because we had a volleyball game to attend at Cal Lu our food was on the table. Everything tasted great and the service was great as well. We will be back next time we are in the area for sure.

Comprehensive breakfast menu and speedy, friendly service, tucked into an industrial park side lot. Food was fine, nothing special. Prices were fair.

I can't believe it's taken me this long to write a review for Side Street, I am always in a happy food comma post-brunch and forget. Side Street has long been my absolute favorite restaurant in Ventura County! When it comes to the menu at Side Street, you genuinely can't make a wrong choice. Personally, I'm hooked on their country fried steak and waffles. Hands down the best gravy you'll ever have! There's something about the way they make their coffee that has me drinking half a pot of coffee I swear. When I go out to eat, I expect the food to be better than what I could make myself at home. It's a standard that so many breakfast/lunch restaurants seem to miss, but Side Street consistently exceeds these expectations without fail. What sets Side Street apart is not only the outstanding food but also their commitment to keeping prices reasonable. You definitely get more than your money's worth here! So many of their dishes come with 1) eggs, 2) toast or biscuits & gravy, AND 3) home fries or hash browns. It's a breakfast lover's dream come true!In the post-COVID era, the closure of so many beloved family-owned restaurants was heartbreaking. Side Street not only weathered the storm but continues to thrive. Stepping into Side Street feels like entering a home away from home. Suzanne, the owner and founder, is a constant presence, working alongside her husband, Ryan, and son, Drew. This is as family-owned as it gets, and that authenticity resonates in every corner of the restaurant. What truly makes Side Street special is the family environment. Every member of the staff makes the atmosphere so welcoming. It's evident that they take pride in providing exceptional service, making each visit a memorable experience. In a time where good, family-owned establishments are hard to come by, Side Street stands out as a beacon of what going to a restaurant should be. From the warm atmosphere to the delicious food and impeccable service, this restaurant will always be my go-to. If you haven't experienced the magic of Side Street, it's about time you do! Truly a hidden gem of Ventura County!

Excellent food. The hollandaise sauce is killer every single time. Not a fan of the brewed coffee, it's on the weak side. If you are used to national coffee chain strength coffee - it's not for you. I do want to try the iced coffee. They let you bring in your own coffee, which is a lot more than I can say for other breakfast restaurants in the area. I usually make sure to order an additional drink as a treat - like fresh orange juice or apple juice. The service is good - if it's not, it's because there are no owners there. I had the owner serve me and it was frightening. I felt like I needed to get up and start bussing tables, lol! She wasn't kidding around and our food got to our table lava hot about 5 minutes after we ordered it. If I didn't know she was an owner, I would have been put off. That being said, I am also a woman who worked with the public long enough to grow a tough skin. Suffice to say I don't go out to early breakfast alone to check out the servers and rate the amount of personal attention I receive. You know who you are - I watch you checking out the rear ends when the server leaves your table. If you don't mind a possible wait - go on a Sunday- and mark my words, if you see two blonde women, upwards of 40 yo behind the counter expediting orders.. you will definitely enjoy your breakfast. Oh, and if you sit against the wall of the right hand side of the restaurant, you will hear the people working out next door dropping their weights..lol. In closing, in case you are nervous to ask - you pay the check yourself at the register.
