My favorite place for the morning traditional bagel.

I’ve been coming to this Western Bagel location for 35 years, and unfortunately, today will be my last visit. After waiting 25 minutes in line, while watching four people in front of me leave because it was moving so slowly. I finally ordered two toasted bagels with cream cheese and a coffee.

I asked for an everything bagel but was given a jalapeño cheese everything bagel instead, which is an upcharge. Because the line was so long, I decided to just take it and eat what they served, but after a couple of bites I realized I really wasn’t happy with it. When I went back to the counter to let them know, instead of offering basic customer service, I was told, “You ate part of it.” No apology for the mistake, no acknowledgment of the extra charge—just blame for taking a bite of the wrong bagel they gave me.

It’s disappointing to see how much the service has declined after decades of loyalty.

I decided to give this place a try for the first time today. I ordered a bagel toasted with cream cheese with one more bagel to go. They called me to the register once my order was done, but by the time I checked out, they couldn't find my order. It walked off with someone else. It was a bit annoying to have the extra wait for them to remake my order but it's fine, it happens.
But once I got home, I realized my toasted bagel had been burnt, giving it a bitter taste throughout. It also had very little cream cheese on it. And my second bagel was wrong too, it wasn't the flavor I requested. I was pretty disappointed overall and this was not a great first impression. I will be going to the bagel shop down the road in the future.

Such a great bagel spot! The bagels are super fresh and tasty, and the vibe is awesome. Everyone who works there is so nice and friendly — it just feels good walking in. Definitely my new go-to place for bagels!

Their restaurant makes amazing sesame seed bagels, and their team does a wonderful job with cleaning the tile grout floors and making sure everything is as clean as possible.✨✨ They're the best! While the food here is great the wait times are insane for the number of staff.

That being said , its definitely worth the wait. Just know going in regardless of how short the line is prepare to wait

This may be the only business in ALL of Thousand Oaks of its size that insists they have no restroom for their customers! That could often be understandable but one of their very regular customers was ill, asked to please use their restroom, rather than a garbage can in front of them, and they said go to Mc Donalds across the parking lot. Management seems grossly out of touch-“clerks” are great!

Horrible customer service. Very dirty. Worst bagels and pastries for the price. First and last time I will ever go here.

My favorite bagel place, but don’t get the pastries. I think they get them brought in from somewhere else and they are not the business. lol but the bagels… Best I ever had :-)
