It’s difficult to put into words how essential this place is. Just up the road from the nirvana that is Marshall, this spot hits the spot. With the best pastry this side of France, and pizza you’d kill your own mother for… I could go on forever extolling its virtues. But I didn’t even mention the coffee. This is the place to come for the salve to heal your wounds, whatever they may be.
Mom and pop deli, with a nice/clean indoor seating area and tables with umbrellas outside. We had a Philly Cheesesteak sandwich with plenty of steak and grilled onions on a hard french roll. Pricing is moderate for this touristy area. I would definitely go back.
Not too long ago, we decided to drive out to Tomales and have lunch. We ordered sandwiches and bought a couple of cookies for later. The sandwiches were very good, but the bread was a little harder. It did say "rustic" which now we know to ask for regular bread. The cookies were not made there, but were from a place in Petaluma. They were OK, but not the best. In all, this is a very nice place to go if you're in that area.
