WOW. Don't underestimate grocery store bakery. This bakery is a bomb. I can tell everything is fresh and made from scratch. And the price is very reasonable. Not too sweet and just right. I am officially addicted and wanna try everything they make!

Cake was fresh and delicious. I got the mixed fruit, it was light and not too sweet. I took it to a party and everyone loved it.

I called to Cake Kobo to order a Strawberry cake and I spoke with Mercedes. She was very nice and patient with me. She took my order even though she didn't work the bakery. I picked up the cake the following day and the lady at the bakery was also beautiful and nice. The customer service reminded me of the customer service in Japan. The cake was delicious. I knew it would be since it's from a Japanese bakery. They make it with a great soul. The taste was light and not heavy. The 34.99 it cost for the cake was worth every penny and I am definitely going again. Unfortunately I'm far from Japan but at least I'm down the street from Cake Kobo! Arigato Cake Kobo! Gochisousama deshita!!

I ordered two cakes, one was the strawberry and the other was chocolate mousse. Both were absolutely delicious!

We Love this bakery shop! It is our favorite place to buy all kinds of cakes for birthday s or for all celebrations several We orders in advance so many times at Cake Kobo and this is our favorite place to buy cakes. We Love the strawberry white cake with light icing. They have also a lot of different type of different type of cakes like chocolate mouse, Tiramisu, cheese cake, plain chocolate and more yummy tasty pastries. . Their cakes are not that sweet compared to any other bakery. Their service are great with friendly helpful staff. The ambiance is clean and nice located inside Nijiya Market by Torrance on 182nd and Crenshaw Blvd. I recommend this place to everyone who love cakes, all kinds of pasties and bread. I Love this place!

I used to look forward to Cake Kobo's Christmas cakes every year. Unfortunately the quality has been getting worse. I am so disappointed that I can no longer recommend their cakes. This year the cake and filling reminded me of a strawberry twinky. The cake was dry, not moist and fluffy like a Japanese cake should be. There was hardly any strawberry flavor in the pink filling, their cakes used to be filled with fresh strawberries. So sad. What happened Cake Kobo? In the Bay Area you can get a much better Christmas cake at Clover Bakery.

Very good desserts and pastries relative to so much competition in Torrance and surrounding areas. Very convenient as well - inside Nijiya market. The creme Brule was kinda stiff, but the dessert pudding, soufflé cheesecake and Boston cheesecake were very good. The cakes are excellent. Prices are very reasonable, and service is very friendly and competent.

This bakery has quite a selection of pastries and cakes. It is located inside of the Japanese supermarket Nijiya. It will be all the way to the left as you enter through the sliding door entrance. Before I placed an order for their full cake, I decided to try all slices of the cakes that they make in full size. Of out of all of the cakes I tried, I really enjoyed the tofu cheesecake and the strawberry shortcake. I know, tofu cheesecake sounds odd, but it really is worth trying. It isn't overly sweet and not heavy, but has the taste of a traditional cheesecake. If you are not one for trying something different, I would recommend the strawberry shortcake. The cream tastes so light and fresh and they have fresh strawberries on the cake and in the cake. If you order in advance, they will ask if it's for a birthday or not, because if it's for a birthday, they will ask if you would like to upgrade for the occasion. I believe they charge slightly more, but they do a little more decoration with the cream on the cake rather than a simple design. I ordered this cake twice, one for my mother's birthday and one for my girlfriend's birthday. I had both of the cakes with the birthday upgrade, but honestly, it's not necessary. Overall, the cake was tasty, it was not super sweet like most American cakes, but still sweet enough to satisfy your sweet tooth. The cream was very light and "airy," so if you finish all of the cream with the cake, I don't blame you! The cake was light and soft, so it meshes well with the fresh cream. I would definitely come back again to try their other desserts

I just had their fruit tart and they are delicious It's very light and melts in your mouth

Japanese style strawberry whipped cream cake was so delicious! Japanese style cakes are more light / airy, with soft whipped cream and light, fluffy cake layers...compare that to the American cakes which are more heavy, dense, and frosting so thick you can even slice it with a knife for their cakes and overly sweet.

Here's what I've had there. Cheesecake: Probably the best thing there, it's more dense than i expect and the mouth feel is a bit off. But for the prices, it works in a pinch. Cream cake: soft cake with custard cream in the center. Custard is pretty straight forward, nothing mind blowing. again for the price it's a pretty decent value. Cream puffs in the chilled refrigerated section (they sell these at all Nijiya locations): pretty meh for the quantity but you get what you pay for. The shell is a bit stale since they're in the refrigerated section and the cream is decent.

Tried their chocolate eclairs at a store in Santa Monica and they were really good! There are 6 for about $5. I'm definitely going to try their bakery soon and I'll update the review
