the food was exceptional, and the feel of the place is nice, laid back. the staff lacked in friendliness (A LOT) but I was not really there for the interaction today. I do appriciate that I could choose the amount of the rice portion to go with my chicken cutlet, as if i am served to much rice, i shall indeed eat too much rice. This is the best Japanese curry in the United States. Granted I’ve only been to maybe 20 other Japanese curry spots mostly in Cali and NYC, but I did live in Japan for about a year and a half. This place would rival any great curry spot in Tokyo. Delicious. And the owner was nice and the place is cool. When I went there was no indoor dining but it was a beautiful Southern California day and there was outdoor seating.
I have lived in the south bay for a few years now. Whenever I think Japanese curry I thought of Coco, but I rarely went since I like going to unique places. Found this place and wow, outstanding. New go-to Japanese curry spot. Very well priced and the man that runs it is so nice. Highly recommend.
