Wish there were tablet menus and table chimes to call staff like in Japan. Still delicious!

I really wish this location could be better. Waited over 20 mins just to get water. With 2 thirsty little kids this was torture. Server was friendly, but obviously forgot about our table. Tried letting the manager know, but nothing was done to make us feel better about the bad decision of going there. Really unfortunate bc gyu has been a childhood fave

This place is not what it used to be. The service sucked and so does the portion and quality of the food. Being overpriced for trash. Never going back!

We've had a good time in the past here, but this time the table got extra hot and burned our food and made us extra uncomfortable sitting there. The servers barely visited us.

The lunch deals are very good and I think one of the best, considering what you get, I especially like the 2 or 3 item lunch specials that range from $15-19. One thing that is not consistent is the table service. It really varies by who you get. The experience is very good overall.

Upon arrival at Gyu Kaku Torrance, we were greeted warmly, and our reservation for 2 people at 12:30pm for the Dine LA menu was promptly confirmed. Shortly after being seated, our server provided us with the menu. However, several items were out of stock/unavailable due to popular demand. The server instructed us how long to cook each meat, which was helpful. The miso soup was a tad bit salty, and the rice was a bit dry, but other than that, it was ok. As it got busier, the service became slower, which is typical. It took awhile for us to get our check after asking. Another worker eventually brought our check, but there was no thank you, no acknowledgement, no words, nothing. Despite these slight issues, the available dishes were delicious and Dine LA experience at GYU Kaku was overall satisfactory.

Nothing of what we wanted to eat was available. The only thing that was noted in the front was ice cream but where a lot more... let's not talk about there bathrooms.. every time we go and use the restroom they are always dirty! Toilets are disgusting!

Always good service and high quality meats here at Gyu kaku. Best prices if avoid the 6:30 to 8:30 full price menu times to get the "Happy hour" pricing! Inside with the wood paneling and some of the semi-private booths makes for great date spot!

Food was great, service was great. Solid place. The main drawback is that the wait times are very high at peak hours so plan accordingly. Food is worth it though.

Vegetarian options: Limited selection but not exactly the kind of place you'd go if you're not into meat. Kind of an obvious answer to this one.

Dietary restrictions: They have clearly labeled gluten free menu options and cater to those people who have food intolerance/ allergies.

Parking: Parking is a nightmare but it's not this place's fault to be specific. It's just the area.

Kid-friendliness: You need to keep an eye on your kids, especially if they're rambunctious given there is a literal open flame on the table. If they're more respectful and able to behave, they'll get a kick out of the novelty.

Wheelchair accessibility: Manually opening door, wheel chair is accessible. It's a tight squeeze though.

We went to this restaurant expecting good quality of food.
Eventhogh food wasn't the best, their service was good.
The environment wasn't the best either, the tables were a little sticky and greasy, and their plates or utensils were alittle dirty.
Over all. "It was ok"

Used to love coming to this restaurant but the quality of food and service has gone down. I've received the wrong order multiple times and today I found egg shell in my food.

Service was great! All of the meat cuts were good, nothing too fatty or bottom of the barrel. The miso soup was a bit salty, besides that, everything was great! I recommend the salad, it's amazing.

Food was good as always; and service was exceptional. Noise level was a little higher than we like. We always get there ahead of the crowd in order to be able to hear each other talk. On a happy note, the restaurant is now selling the salad dressing in a bottle ?
