I discovered this place on Google maps. This cute little Japanese restaurant had the best noodles! Workers were super nice and polite. I had their Unagi Soba noodles and it was the best I’ve ever tasted. The umami in it tasted good. It’s a pretty quiet eat, definitely the best place to eat in peace. I went on Friday close to closing time, best time to eat when it’s not too crowded. Got there and eat! Will be back again!

Fantastic authentic Japanese soba & udon restaurant with great service, delicious food, and a perfect vibe. I have eaten the Banbanji with Udon about 650 times this summer and I have no plans to stop.
This is a cute little local spot. The cashier was patient and helpful while I asked a few questions. Will come back 🤗

Delicious as always! One of my most favorite Japanese noodle houses in LA!
We ordered the unagi udon bowl (cold) and the kakiage (shrimp + veggie tempura) udon (cold) and both were so simple yet so tasty. Hits the spot every time.
Service is quick. There’s ample seating inside in two rooms.
They do charge you a fee for paying with a credit card just FYI as the cash price is always cheaper.
Ample free street parking around.

We came to this restaurant around 1 p.m. and it was very, very busy. The line was very long. After we ordered our food, we found a seat. But after about 30 minutes, we didn’t get our food. At first, we didn’t worry because many customers who came earlier than us didn’t get their food as well.
But after we waited for around 40 minutes, we found that the customers who came later than us got their food and we had not yet. So we asked the staff why, and we got the reply that they completely forgot our order. I felt very frustrated and asked for a refund. But considering that my girlfriend really liked this restaurant and we drove for more than one hour to get there, I asked the staff if they could prepare our food in 10 or 15 minutes. But no one said yes. They just apologized and didn’t offer any solution. We had nothing we could do, so the only choice for us was to ask for a refund and leave to find some new food. We were very frustrated and disappointed with this experience.
We totally understand that it was a small restaurant and it was very busy, but this mistake is just too low-level and not acceptable. I know they should have some capacity to handle this. If they are too busy and it's beyond their capability, they should do something to control the situation, but they didn't. They didn't offer any solution.
I believe losing only two customers doesn’t matter to them because they’re too popular and too busy, and we are not important at all. So that was our experience yesterday. At first, I didn’t want to give a bad review on Google because I know it’s not easy for a small business, but I feel more and more angry even today, no one cares us at all! So I finally decided to write a negative review here.

I’m so thankful this place hasn’t gone viral but this place deserves all the virality. The food here makes me not miss Japan. Every single thing tasted so perfect I was so sad my meal ended. I devoured everything and if i was only allowed to eat their food for a month, I’d gladly eat it every day. My mind is blown.

Gosh, what a simple and delicious menu they manage!
From soba made in house to the lightest crisp on the tempura, this authentic Japanese noodle house is a place I wish I lived close!

If you want high-quality sushi without driving to the west side, this is your spot. The chefs are skilled and very friendly. I recommend the omakase if you're feeling adventurous — it's fresh and beautifully plated. There’s a tiny sushi bar and a few tables, so come early. Prices are mid-range but worth it. Low-key, date-friendly vibe.

Amazing restaurant that makes you feel like you went to a soba restaurant in Japan in a less urban area. I really loved their broth for the Niku dish, and I thought the meat was good. Wouldn't have traded it for anything else today.
