I was really excited to try this restaurant. The reviews looked good. I love fresh fish. I hope they can get better, and while I feel bad writing this review. I hope they improve, I probably would not come back.
First, the green tea was weak and tasted like metallic tap water. The butterfish had so many bones. Which okay, I know sometimes fish have bones, but this was an excessive amount for restaurant quality in though. I could say that the butterfish was just okay.
Also ordered the chef’s choice sushi plate. Again it was okay.
And the toro had a fishy taste. I fish, so I know what good fish should taste like. The fish did not taste fresh.
Halfway through our meal the staff decided to start cleaning with heavy detergent making food taste like cleaning fluid. It felt like I inhaled it and it felt like I had this horrible taste in my mouth for like 30 minutes after leaving the restaurant.

I liked everything. If you like uni, I think this is one of the better places for variety. Nice enough for a date, but also casual enough to go in shorts.

I’m visiting from Tampa and was looking for high end sushi, and I found it here. The fish was very fresh on the sashimi platter! The grilled squid was perfect and the garden salad was perfection.

Wow, this is the best resturaunt I’ve ever been to hands ZOWN! I still dream and crave it everyday. First of all, I just wanna talk about how damn good the food is. My boyfriend and I ordered the uni oysters, uni fries, uni pasta, and then another pasta (forgot the name)…… and tell me why EVERYTHING WAS SO DAMN GOOD?!?! Baby I’ve never been to a resturaunt where everything on the menu was a HIT!!! Also the service was good, our host was very kind and reccomended us some dishes! When we went, it was empty (which I cannot fathom) and it was just super relaxing and peaceful. I love this place so much and I can’t wait to come back except with everybody I love because I think everyone I love deserves to know about this place. The uni oysters were so good that I took a video of myself eating it because I knew I was going to miss it, and even though I’m running out of storage I can’t bring myself to delete the video 💔 and I thought my uni pasta was so good…. Until I tried my boyfriend’s…. And oh my god… THAT BROTH WAS HEAVENLY!!! HOW DO U MAKE A BROTH TASTE SO GOOD 😭😭!!! Anyways I will be saving $$ out of my paychecks and dedicate them to eating here because wow I love uni so much so maybe I’m biased but I’m so happy that there’s a resturaunt dedicated to uni ❤️

Truly amazing high-quality sushi & sashimi. Prices near high-end, but the quality out shines 99% of the hipster beachy marginal quality sushi joints in South Bay. Well worth the money! Try the Toro w Uni or Premium Sashimi. Even the Uni Pasta Rocks the house!!! Be sure to make a reservation on weekends.

A must-visit for uni lovers! Every dish was delicious and service was excellent. The uni donburi was my favorite, and all of the sushi was fresh and expertly prepared. They also have great HH deals. Also convenient free parking in the garage
Miyabi Uni – A Decent Uni-Themed Japanese Restaurant in Torrance
Located in Torrance, Miyabi Uni is a Japanese restaurant that stands out with its sea urchin-themed decor, including several sea urchin models on the wall that emphasize its specialty—uni. The menu offers multiple uni options, from appetizers to main dishes, with choices between local uni and Santa Barbara uni.
We started with the Miyabi Oyster, which came topped with uni and caviar—a fresh, flavorful bite that highlighted the quality of the ingredients. The House Uni Donburi was a generous bowl of rice topped with uni, seaweed, and vegetables. However, it also included lemon slices and chopped wasabi, which might be worth picking out some before mixing the bowl if you prefer a more traditional uni experience.
Additionally, we tried the Uni Aglio e Olio Pasta, a combination of pasta, uni, and fried garlic slices. Unfortunately, it was too oily, and the flavors of the pasta and uni felt disconnected, making it less enjoyable compared to other dishes.
The staff here are friendly, and the chef even personally checked in on our dining experience, which was a nice touch. However, only indoor dining is available, meaning it’s not a dog-friendly restaurant. If you're an uni lover, it’s worth checking out—just be mindful of your dish selection!
