While my anticipation was high, the restaurant fell slightly short of my expectations. The sashimi, though generous in portion size and texture, didn’t quite match the anticipated quality. I noticed an excess of fishy odors permeating both the dish and the miso soup, which may have been exacerbated by the late-night dining hour. However, the service was commendable, with staff displaying impressive knowledge of the menu items they served.

If you love uni as much as I do, this is a must visit! I had a hard time picking from the various uni dishes, but LOVED the ones I picked. Will be coming back to try some of the others soon!

This place is such a hidden gem! In a cute little shopping center you can barely see off the main road that I've passed a million times and never knew was there. Some of the best, freshest, most glorious sushi and uni dishes I've ever had! Seriously try this place immediately! Beautiful interior and great service, but the food was the star!

It's a very expensive Japanese restaurant, but the ingredients are very good and the food is excellent.

The food was fantastic. I ordered the chef's sushi plate. It included so many things to try. I had the best salmon and the best uni I've ever tried.

The food here is great! My mother said it reminded her of her time living in Japan. The warm and attentive service and delicious food made this restaurant one of the happiest things about our vacation in LA. The only drawback is that there are always little bugs flying around and I keep waving my hands to avoid them landing on my food.

Honestly, it's no big deal. The idea was to use sea urchin.

Food is acceptable. By that I mean there was nothing wrong with freshness, smell, taste, or texture, but there was absolutely nothing outstanding about it. It is the quality you SHOULD expect from any half-decent restaurant that serve raw fish. The headline item of uni is also acceptable quality, but it did not impress me. I would rank it around the ones sourced from Santa Barbara that is typically found in most Japanese groceries stores. I will concede that December is not the best month for uni. And while I do not find the price point outrageous, I should note that the large kaisen don pictured has more than my expected amount of fillers like daikon strings, salad vegetables, ginger etc. I personally despise these items in kaisen don. The tamago depresses me.The staff appeared haggard and running around, but the restaurant was only about half full with an empty patio. It seems to be a problem with division of labor. For example the servers are often bunched up near the kitchen entrance waiting for dishes to come out, and the staff behind the counter, particularly the pasta station, was working non-stop, but nonetheless the food took over 30 minutes to arrive. The politeness and attentiveness meets the minimum expected for a Japanese restaurant. The atmosphere is the worst part of this restaurant. The decor can best be described as "Ikea Afterthought". Cheap furniture, greasy table, random decoration that are all more akin to a local mom-and-pop Asian restaurant that you order take-out from than a dine-out destination.Overall 3/5.I somehow led myself to believe, from the online reviews and the price point, that this is a slightly up market restaurant worth the drive. It is not. It is acceptable for a local week night upgrade, but not much more.

Very delicious, high quality sashimi and fresh japanese style fish. Got some kind of seafood salad and a tuna roll and cucumber roll. Imo... pretty expensive. Server was busy every second and didn't offer us water when we took our seats. We also waited a pretty long time before getting our orders taken. Maybe it was too busy? Please hire more staff. Also our table was uneven and kept rocking back and forth. Generally I didn't enjoy the experience and probably won't be back. But the tuna and salmon from the salad was delicious.

Hands down the best uni pasta we've had EVER. We made a detour down here and made it just before lunch closing. We're very thankful they let us in since this isn't the norm. You really have to go with all things uni. I mean it's in their name right?

Sashimi platter was nice and fresh and everything tasted okay! But not sure its somewhere ill come back too. I didn't realize the uni oysters were that expensive. Bought a dozen and it came out as $100 for just the oysters lol definitely my mistake but other then that it was okay. Probably a little too expensive since it was about $250 for two people. Also got the uni pasta which was also okay.
