The food was amazing, although the prices can put a bit of a damper in your budget depending on how you order. Personally, I don't mind at all! In the end, the service was mind blowing! Super friendly people, who went above and beyond to make our experience worth while when we had dined in before COVID. We came as a group of four, and had ordered each our own meals, a craveable, and some drinks. A member of our group had remarked that the prices were expensive for what we had ordered, and unexpectedly an employee had overheard and gave us some extra golden Bao! We weren't expecting this at all, and felt bad, but they insisted not to worry. The service goes above and beyond, and our first experience dining in felt extremely welcome. My sister and I would come and order drinks from time to time, usually the boba, and one night we decided to eat something healthy and ordered salads. I got the jackfruit, and it was SO GOOD! Literally I couldn't even tell it was a fruit! The texture, flavor, everything about it was almost like eating meat but it was still light with great flavor! I really miss this place, and can't wait to go back once they open. Thank you for all the good food!

I finally try this place and it was pretty good! I have never been here before and the cashier was very energetic and helpful in helping me pick out some things to try. She actually suggested that the entire video was good, but I told her I could only try one thing at a time lol! First let me start by saying that the onion pancake is something that is different and I must try. The dipping sauce is really good, but it's a good appetizer. I order the garlic noodles which were pretty good. You can't get them in the lunch combo, but you can get them as a meal. Nice and buttery noodles with loads of garlic! My sister ordered the bowl and it was not that great. It didn't have much meat and was bland. There were so many other great things on the menu I think she should have ordered something else. There will be more opportunity for us to try other things. We will be back for sure!

Was really excited to try this Asian fusion fast casual place after reading the positive reviews, but this place was just ok. I'd definitely rather make the trek to Chinollo or On+On Kitchen. While the manager was very friendly and helpful the food was not tasty. Ordered the fried chicken bao; chicken was tender and juicy but lacked flavor. Ordered the pork belly bowl, also very bland and the little flavor it did have didn't gel together.

3 stars seems low for me, I give this place about a 3.5. What makes this place really nice is the Happy Hour 1/2 drinks and appetizers. I had the Hot Chicken Bao and it was very delicious - the chicken was tender and juicy. I also had the Asian street bowl which was solid. I found the taste to be all right and it didn't "wow" me as much as the Hot Chicken Bao. The flavors were good but maybe it was just the day that I had went, but I barely received any meat in my bowl. The menu items have a lot of unique and interesting flavors, but again, the happy hour specials are absolutely amazing. I will be coming back to try the Hot Chicken Bao again, and hopefully to find an entree that will "wow" me.

I'm writing this review after just eating here and wow. The service and the food are amazing! The owner is super friendly; you can tell she really cares about this place and she makes you feel so welcome. There's a lot of different foods on the menu. I really enjoyed the pork belly bao, the pork belly banh mi (with a fried egg), the golden bao, the fried tofu, egg rolls--everything we ordered, basically. :) And the portions are huge, too! (I'm so full!) Definitely a place to try if you're in the area!

I'm a HUGE fan of Shiok! I LOVE the vegetarian options here. Since they first opened, they've expanded their menu and offered lunch combos. It's definitely somewhere I never get tired of because of the variety they offer. The flavors are complex and delicious! Another bonus is that you can accumulate points for every visit and redeem them towards future meals. I encourage you to go, try all the items and keep this place thriving!

My husband and I were in the area and the menu looked very appealing to us. The food did not disappoint! We got the Zen bowl (BBQ jackfruit) and the BBQ jackfruit banh mi. Both are amazing! The flavors are great and the bread for the sandwich is fluffy yet also with that light crunch you only get with a French roll. Their teas are delicious and not too sweet either.

I tried this spot during a Happy Hour promotional pricing menu and it was a solid good experience... A-OKAY in my book! The menu is unique and worth coming to check out. I'd come again to see if I can be "wowed!" by anything that I'd deem a signature dish qualifying it as a "destination dining" restaurant that I'd make it a point to go out of my way to journey to out of craving and desire. I didn't order the right things when I went despite the menu having some intriguing dishes I didn't try, so I feel I owe 'em and myself another visit to really explore their menu for a more proper review. Parking is or was really easy since it's in an outdoor giant strip mall shared by a movie theater and many retailers and restaurants.

Located in the little circle near the AMC theaters in Torrance on PCH and Crenshaw. There is lots of parking and the place is a combination of many different Asian foods. I opted for a lunch option of 1/2 orders from column A and one from column B. I opted for the fried pork bao that came with a Thai like sweet red dipping sauce and a curry noodle dish with chicken. The noodle dish reminds me of a Malaysian Laksa as it has a coconut curry base with a decent amount of heat. They have many vegan and gluten free options along with a lot of drink options as well.

Celebrated mom and sister's birthdays here, based on friends' and Yelp's recommendations. This is a great place to do "family style", so you can sample a little bit of everything! What I appreciate the most about their menu is that they list which items have peanuts (I have a severe peanut allergy), are Dairy-Free, have a Vegetarian Option, etc. As a customer, it puts me more at ease, knowing they take dietary restrictions seriously. Plus, I mentioned again when putting in my order that I had a peanut allergy and I didn't have any problems! What we ordered: 1) Crispy Golden Baos- 5 out of 5 stars! 2 pork & 1 veggie. I love how we could get a mix of both! SO GOOD. A crunchy, thin slightly sweet golden bread crust. The meat to bun ratio is AWESOME and made even better with a sliver of hard-boiled egg in the middle. Comes with a sweet chili sauce on the side, but didn't think it needed it because the bun on its own was flavorful enough. Would definitely order again! 2) Street Salad with Grilled Pork: 4 out of 5 Stars! A very tasty mix with a nice light fish sauce dressing (sort of reminds me of the dressing you get with the Vietnamese Bun). Mom & sister liked it a lot. Very generous with the meat! Personally, I wouldn't get the pork again-- it was too boozy for me. 3) Garlic Noodles (with Crispy Tofu): 4 out of 5 stars (as per mom & sister-- I couldn't try it b/c it had dairy in it)! They liked the garlic flavor of the noodles a LOT. I did sample the crispy tofu on top, but we all agreed it was disappointing because even though the texture was good, it was flavorless (couldn't even taste the lemongrass nor the soy ginger sauce). 4) Loaded Fries (with lemongrass steak): 5 out of 5 stars! This was by far my favorite thing on the menu. Crispy well seasoned fries topped with lemongrass steak, corn, cabbage slaw & some sort of aoili. SO GOOD. The lemongrass steak was THE BEST-- it was so tender and flavorful. I would come back just for the fries. I would have given them an extra star, but I was sorely disappointed when I got there because Happy Hour only ran from 3-5 pm. We rushed to get there at 5:30 pm because when I checked on Yelp in the "Ask the Community" section, the owner had mentioned that Happy Hour ran from 3-6 pm (granted this was back in November-- they've changed their Happy Hour to be from 3-5 pm FYI). They just need to update that somewhere on Yelp. You can sign up for their rewards program as well, which I did of course! We'll be back to try their drinks and hopefully take advantage of their happy hour! I hope their restaurant does well and stays open-- I want to keep eating their loaded fries for years to come =)

Very disappointed with service and food. Been there e once just afterr opening. The flavor was not there on any of the food and we tried their salad and recommended buns But Both were not good Wanted to give it a try for their lunch special. I walkeD in exactly 5 minutes before the end of their lunch special time. And was told I was too late. I printed out I was On time but the lady told me no but I can buy a la Carte at full price. I walked out and she didn't even say sorry or try to keep me as a customer. Basic customer service is don't lose a potential customer because they may nEver come back. It would have made sense just to allow me to get their lunch special (especially since I was on time ) Never again will I set foot in that place. Bad food and worse service

I'm a huge fan of Asian street food, especially fusion style out of a food truck. This was exactly that in the best way possible. Me and my partner got the fried bao buns, a tofu rice bowl, a spicy chicken brioche sandwich, and a tiger boba drink. Everything was delicious and colorful, and the veggies were super fresh on top of it. I appreciate how you could choose your portion size as well. Service was very friendly and attentive, especially for such a casual place. We'll definitely be coming back

Awesome food. Awesome service. These guys are awesome and so friendly. The owner, Michael, is such a genuine and generous person. Definitely do not pass this place up. Get the strawberry shortcake, it is my favorite drink on the menu. The chicken curry is amazing with the rice noodles. The lemongrass tofu steak is my favorite protein on the menu.
