Fish is a bit bland and mushy. The liver and onions were tasty. Attentive service and relaxing atmosphere. Adequate free parking.

Spires is a great local diner. The food is solidly good and the service warm and friendly. We come here as a family when we go out with grandma. It's an easy choice on a Sunday. No aggravating wait and plenty of parking!

A great breakfast Cafe. I sat at the bar and the cook was singing and having a great time. Order specifications were done perfectly. Great experience.

The best description of this restaurant that I could come up with would be, "She's got a great personality.", as in the response you might give about a less than beautiful blind date that was really nice. The building is in real need of a complete upgrade. Dirty carpet. Worn tables. Very outdated-looking.But the food was fantastic and the service was very friendly and attentive. My wife and I shared the Popeye omelet. A three egg omelet with spinach, onions, and cheese. Hash browns and wheat toast.Plenty for two people. My granddaughter got the strawberry pancakes. The cakes were perfectly cooked and the strawberries were fresh and tasty. If we make it back to Torrance again, we'll definitely look for this place again.

Rude and negligent staff, they shout at you if you go to ask them something. They expect you to listen to them what they are ordering / instructing you.Allot of staff but only one person was for serving. The family with us ordered coffee they forgot. I asked for coffee mug and that boy on the cashier counter was ok to take that request from behind the cashier but did not have the courtesy to come to our table. Then he was waving us plastic cups, again from near the cashier table. I sensed moderate arrogance. I said because of this treatment I do not want to order anything to which the waitress took the menu out from me and gone. No remorse, no customer respect.Look at bathroom photos. They tell more.Another boy wanted to know how was everything when we almost paid and ready to leave, not sure where was he the whole time. You understand what you get here! Hope something keeps them in business so as they can practice ego. Food was not bad. Go here if you have a lot of free time to waste and are okay for this experience.

The place has good food, service too. However, the restaurant needs TLC. The carpet looks very old and dirty, among other things. Prices went up just like other places. Staff is wonderful ??????

Friendly staff. Huge portions. Tasty food. Typical American style diner with lots of options. Place as clean and tidy. Staff is attentive and approachable.

This was the best affordable place to eat, til 2 months ago. Not sure what happened. I do NOT recommend going there at this time.

Breakfast here is really good. I had the avocado, bacon and cheese omelette with hash browns, while my mother had waffles. Everything was cooked well and tasted great. And the service was good too :)

Visiting my uncles and we've eaten here several times. The food is good, the atmosphere is nice and the service is excellent, the staff friendly. Very grateful for the friendly people who have served us here. THANK YOU! God bless.

I was staying in a hotel nearby and wanted to go out for breakfast, so came across Spires when looking on Maps. I had the Chicken Fried Steak with scrambled eggs, hash browns, toast and a coffee. The food came quickly and tasted fresh and delicious. The lady serving me was friendly and kept my coffee topped up. The menu has a wide variety of choices and they serve breakfast/lunch/dinner all day. The prices are very reasonable. I'd definitely recommend visiting here and will come back again. Thanks!

Came here for lunch today to escape the bizarre 90-100+ heat wave here in the South Bay. Food was "okay" -- with the exception of the chocolate cake and vanilla ice-cream dessert shared by 3 of us. It was deelish -- a birthday party explosion in our mouth. Mmmm...

Surprisingly, we happened to go here for breakfast while waiting for our car to be repaired at the dealership. The inside is like going back into time; the decor including the furniture was vintage and appeared to be there since the place opened but it added the charm to this place. Food was decent and staff was great. Prices are a little high but I wouldn't mind coming back. A must try if in the area.
