The first two photos is what was made. I was on the phone with my mom listening to her going over the order of what was to be made for my SIL gender reveal. Explain that everyone was going to bite into the cupcakes at the same time to reveal to blue frosting in the center. The two photos were supposed to be made on Monday morning. Yet the employee stated the baker/decorator doesn’t work during the week. It was to be a white cake often called vanilla. To have her cupcakes pop up with green in them… that means the cake was yellow not white/vanilla. Simple kindergarten knowledge … yellow mixed with blue makes green. How would everyone bite into the cupcake to reveal blue if they pulled the awful brown baking paper down to take the bite and it already had color showing? She was shown photos by my mom. At 2:30pm yesterday, (the day of pick up) I had to run to Vons (after her frantic call that the cupcakes were made wrong) and luckily the baker there (at Vons) had vanilla cupcakes that were for a 7pm pick up for another family. They started a new batch for that family as they decorated (with white frosting and made sure 2 were filled with blue frosting for the parents since I didn’t have enough time for her to fill all 24 with blue frosting centers). I then had to grab pink and blue birthday cupcake decor packets and rush to the home to decorate only 16min before family was to roll in at 5pm. The photos 3 is the ones from Vons. The decor I had to buy, then the decorated cupcakes I had to do. Finally, what was supposed to be the requested cupcake with the blue frosting. Exactly how we showed her and told her what we wanted.1. There was an accessible amount of dye added to the cake to make it that blue, 2. They were hard and old feeling to the touch when we inspected them with the employee.I am absolutely heartbroken that we had to rush this order and go to Vons to grab store bought cupcakes (luckily they had fresh cupcakes that were only baked 30min prior). They didn’t have to!!! Shame shame shame for suck horrible service at a bakery. Shame shame that you didn’t show the care to bake these cupcakes with any professionalism. Over baked, made wrong rushed inedible nasty looking cupcakes. Will never walk through your doors again.

I rarely leave bad reviews, but I had to this time. I visited this bakery a week ago and ordered cupcakes for a gender reveal.I showed the woman behind the counter pictures on my phone that I had gathered off the Internet of exactly what I wanted for gender reveal cupcakes for a boy. I told her I wanted the cupcakes, just like in the picture, which she said would be no problem. The cupcakes were to have , pastel pink and blue swirls for the buttercream icing, I wanted the cake itself to be white cake and the center to be blue, what’s more she told me she would be able to do exactly what I wanted. This was so we could have a countdown and all the guests could bite the cupcakes at the same time and reveal the gender.I even called at least three times the week before, and spoke to young lady, added more cupcakes and double checked everything.Well, when I went in today February 26, 2024, the date of the gender reveal, I was shocked. As you can see in the picture below, this is what I was given. Really burnt looking greenish bluish cupcakes wrapped in paper. The cupcakes turned out this way, because this bakery mixed yellow cake with blue food coloring. What do you get when you mix yellow with blue? You get green. They use so much dark blue food coloring, it was completely ridiculous, and the cupcakes were completely un-edible.The young lady at the bakery” Who did not take the original order” and who could not stop apologizing because she was just as shocked as I was. The young lady said none of the instructions written on the order form of what I had explained to the woman who took the original order, so this woman who was to bake these cupcakes, wrote nothing down, and just cook the cupcakes from her flawed memory. This bakery, had me completely panicked, because the gender reveal was going to be in just three hours.Thank God for Vons supermarket, and my daughter who drove over there and young lady at Vons just happened to had just finished baking two dozen fresh white cupcakes. She was able to fill two of the cupcakes with little blue icing, and my daughter purchased blue and pink sprinkles, and we were able to have our gender reveal. A grocery store did a better job than a professional bakery.I was finally able to speak to the woman who took the original order, who tried to tell me I was a liar, and I never showed her pictures. I told her to pull up her security cameras if she has them and listen to the audio and watch the video. I’m sure you’ll see me showing you my phone with pictures on it. And as a so-called professional bakery, why would you even think that what you were expecting me to pay almost $70 for 15 cupcakes, you would believe they would make sure they were done correctly for such an important event. You would have thought they would have called me this morning and go over the order and instructions just to make sure everything was correct before they completed the order, and let me know when I can come and pick them up. But no, I did not even receive a call at all. I had to call the bakery to see if they were done and was told the cupcakes had been completed since early this morning and we’re sitting in a refrigeratorHorrible, horrible customer service.

Randomly stopped by and ended up buying two sugar cookies for the kids and a birthday cake. The flavor was purple velvet and it was absolutely delicious, well-decorated, fairly priced, and perfect for our party of 10. Everyone at the table commented how delicious the cake was, how the frosting was not too sweet and the balance between the cake and the frosting was perfect. Our girls loved the sugar cookies and my 6-year old declared, "This is like the best cookie ever!" Highly recommend this local bakery for your next special occasion or swinging by for a special treat for your kiddos, your spouse, or yourself!

Beautiful and tasty! Met my needs perfectly and the fact that Megan was so responsive and patient with all my questions was the icing on the cake. Thank you Megan for the lovely creations!

I ordered a cake for my husband's birthday. The owner was so nice and helpful to help me choose the design. She did a wonderful job and the cake was perfect. I also purchased the peacan pie bar as well as the cinnnamon buns. They were delicious!

Everything about my experience with Stahrs Cakes was exemplary. I needed a dessert for a dinner event for my friends that require gluten-free and nut- free options. From the person that answered the phone to the person that helped in the store, I received nothing but kind, friendly service. They provided taste samples and they were very patient as I took extra time to be sure I got

I often drop by when I am in the area; some things are a big hit here...just bought the most fabulous coconut cake slice I can remember having. The ginger cupcake I purchased was also very fresh and yummy. I like to go when samples are available (Saturday) so I know how the item tastes and whether it is fresh. When the bakery was newer, I frequently brought home stale/dry treats, but freshness is much improved recently. I highly recommend the pecan bars...great value for such a large bar...and very addictive! Also, I have never custom ordered anything, but knowing how good their in-store items are when fresh, I would expect custom baked goods to be good.

I challenged Stahrs Cakes with an Elf the movie themed hockey cake. True fans of the movie would know that the hockey scene was deleted (boo). Anyway, my ice hockey playing daughter and two of her travel teammates were thrilled with their joint birthday cake. I have the feeling that the team will be demanding more cakes like this in the future.

EPIC FAILURE & MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT!!! Imagine walking into a small Mom & Pop style store, everything looking reasonably clean & well-maintained, and the delectable smell of inviting baked goodies beckoning you to enjoy with a nice, freshly brewed cuppa, making your selection among the variety of beautifully displayed cupcakes, only to find out with the first bite that the plastic fork provided was barely strong enough to withstand the brick-like hardness of both icing & cupcake itself, and why? Because it was refrigerator cold, and dry as sawdust, and as for the taste, let's just say overly sweet and tasteless are not what one expects from a specialty store such as Stahr's! Not only do we feel ripped off for paying $4.50 per cupcake for a stingy, sub-par product, but we feel as though we should report this business to the health department as we have no idea just how old these cupcakes were, but I can guarantee they were anything but fresh, and no one should ever settle for less than fresh when it comes to premium priced baked goods! Caveat emptor!! Ps: This store doesn't even deserve one star, but the app won't allow zero stars, let alone negative 17!! Needless to say, we won't be back!!

Staff is friendly and nice...but the cupcakes are not our favorites. We loved Cuppies and had high hopes for Stahrs to continue their cupcakes after they took over. We have tried about 5 or 6 different times and we have finally decided it isn't for us. We have had very dry cupcakes...some taste like they were a day old. The texture is more like a muffin with frosting. They are heavy and dense...and we are used to light and moist cupcakes. We may return at some point but we are sad to not have our fav cupcake place nearby.

Super cute Mario themed cake and cupcakes. Tasty too! The owner was super friendly along with the rest of the staff. Highly recommend!

$5 for the stalest cupcake that wax tossed in the garbage. Horrible! I should have given my money to a deserving person. I will never return
