If youâre craving a no-frills, punchy Japanese rice bowl, Sutadon-ya hits the spot.
Their pork bowls are saucy, savory, and unapologetically heavy â not fancy, but thatâs exactly the point.
Portions are generous (donât show up on a full stomach), and the spicy version packs a nice kick without nuking your taste buds.
The vibe is fast-casual; you order, you sit, you demolish the bowl.
Itâs the kind of comfort food you want after a long day, when you just need flavor and satisfaction in one shot.
Nothing delicate, nothing ârefinedâ â just good old Japanese power bowls.
Worth the visit if youâre in the mood for something hearty and fast.

A lot has changed since I last been here. I used to eat their food when they still had cashiers to take your order. My go to was always the sutadon bowl or the spicy fried rice. It's sad to realize that they no longer have spicy fried rice on the menu. The new look is very on point with the current times, but I just wish sometimes a person would take my order as the menu can be a bit confusing if you do not know what to eat/order. I now just stick to the sutadon bowl as it is a classic and never disappoints.

Normally decent, today waited 45 minutes (yes a full 45) for a chicken katsu and rice dish. They may have had problems with the fryer? Totally burnt, inedible, couldnât chew through the chicken carcass. No apology for the wait time. Just not up to any standard.

Ordered it through door dash with raw egg. Got delivered when it was almost cold. After I ate it and spent almost the whole day in the restroom. This was the only meal I had that day.

Tonkatsu wa overcooked. I can see chicken inside with pink meat. Yakisoba tastes terrible. Itâs a shame to be a Japanese dish.

If you're in search of a restaurant where disappointment is served in every bite, look no further. My recent visit was an experience I'd rather not repeat, and here's why.
Firstly, I ordered my meal for dining in, yet the food was inexplicably handed to me in to-go boxes. Sitting at a table with styrofoam containers is not the dining experience I expected. But that was only the beginning.
What really took the cake (or should I say, left it uneaten) was the shocking difference between the display foods in their cases and what actually arrived. The portions I received were barely a thirdâperhaps even a quarterâof what was advertised. The disparity was laughable, if not downright insulting.
Save your money, your time, and your taste buds. This place is a one-and-done. One star, no more.

Why are you working without wearing gloves? Without measuring the weight of the noodles, without wearing gloves, he put them into a bowl with his hand, then touched his nose with the hand he had touched, then he put them in a plastic bag and threw them to the side. Then, another person cut green onions with his hand, also not wearing sanitary gloves, and touched a tray of food ordered by another customer, then went back and cut green onions again. It was so unpleasant and dirty that I cancelled my order. When I tried to report this to the Torrance Health Department, again, my grade was B. When I asked three employees why they weren't wearing sanitary gloves, they looked at me with unpleasant eyes instead.
*The kitchen is so dirty, *the employees' clothes are dirty,* and they don't wear sanitary gloves while working. The household rating is City Hall Health Department's rating is B.

**Disappointing Experience at Sutadonya**
I recently visited Sutadonya with high expectations, but I was deeply disappointed. The portions served were significantly smaller than what was advertised in the pictures. What looked like a hearty, fulfilling meal in the photos turned out to be a meager serving in reality.
The discrepancy between the advertisement and the actual dish left me feeling cheated. Not only was the portion size inadequate, but it also failed to justify the price charged.
Overall, I would not recommend Sutadonya if you're expecting a meal that matches the enticing pictures on their menu. There are many better options in the area that offer better value for money

This store hired couple kids have no clue what they are doing. I waited 50 minutes and food is completed overcooked. One thing they do fast is to return my order and get me refund, so are the other two guys in front of me.

I got three sides; two gyoza plates, and karaage. The fried gyoza was good, the other one was literally almost ice cold on the inside, and the karaage was almost flavorless. I waited nearly 30 minutes for my food. It cost $25. This was the biggest ripoff in the market.

I am very disappointed. This is my first time eating here and the chicken looks undercooked. Do you guys even check the temp of the chicken? I had chicken katsu curry but the first thing I noticed is the chicken is undercooked. at first I thought it was just mine but when I tasted my wifeâs chicken karaage. And itâs worst than I had.
