This ole man is the grumpiest person I’ve met in Humboldt County. Ive been here 4 times and thought iI give him a chance. Maybe an off day, but nope he is horrible. He charges $35/lb for King salmon. And he gives me the worst cuts. He won’t give a good cut. And he is so cheap he doesn’t offer to freezer wrap individual fillets. He just slops all the cuts together in one paper wrapping. I will never go again. For a geezer who says “Ive been doing this forever and i know how its to be done” he hasn’t learned anything about being nice to people.

The smoked fish available at Katy's Smokehouse is top notch. Sea food is always fresh and tasty. Bob, the owner, is extremely knowledgeable about all aspects of his products. In addition, he has taught me the finer points of cooking all of his fresh sea food. We always stop by Katy's when we are in Trinidad and are never disappointed by the products or the friendly service we experience.

Just stopped to get smoked fish. I got grey cod and ling cod and it was the freshest tastiest fish I have had. A bit pricey but well worth the price . Definitely would recommend going.
The man behind the counter was a bit grumpy and short with my family when we stopped in. Still bought some smoked salmon (which was phenomenal) and smoked canned fish. But the attitude given was a bit off-putting...Can't see myself returning.

I had a very disappointing experience with Katy’s in Trinidad, California. I called to inquire about shipping fresh crab to a friend in Las Vegas, and the person I spoke to, a man, was incredibly rude and dismissive. When I asked a few questions about the shipping process, he abruptly told me that shipping crab was too dangerous and hung up the phone on me!
While I understand that shipping crab may not be feasible, there is no excuse for such rude and unprofessional behavior. This experience has left a negative impression, and I will not be purchasing anything from this store in the future. I hope they take this feedback seriously and work on improving their customer service.

I’m sorry for the owners unfortunate health problems, still no excuse for being rude as hell. After looking at the reviews, looks like the owner has a problem with his manners, just like you.
