The best thing about the restaurant is the view of the beach and ocean, especially at sunset. We weren't in the mood for a big dinner, so we ordered appetizers and small plates. The smoked salmon, wonton and mushroom tofu potstickers were excellent. Unfortunately, our grilled oysters came out shriveled and too well done. We probably should've sent them back, but didn't. For our main, we ordered the Korean beef with coleslaw. They were delicious and cooked perfectly. There was enough for leftovers to take home. We finished the night with a yummy apple Galette to celebrate a birthday.  We like our Cadillac margaritas sweeter, so we had to order an extra shot of Grand Marnier.  Prices are a little high for Humboldt County.

I booked dinner here for my fiancée and I to celebrate our new engagement. The staff were exceptional from start to finish, they offered glasses of prosecco on the house which was so great, and we had a great corner table that was very intimate and perfect for the occasion. Our server, Giovanna did a fantastic job with her recommendations and checking in throughout the meal but giving us plenty of time to visit alone and enjoy the night. Such a great find on our trip up to Redwood National and State Parks!

The restaurant was rundown and dated. It could be someplace wonderful due to the location and views, but sadly, it is in desperate need of a makeover. The food was just ok. Honestly, we were disappointed in the dining experience.

Beautiful location looking over the beach. Parking was terrible. Folks visiting the beach, not eating at the restaurant, park in their lot. The front outside of the restaurant needs some landscaping, not very inviting! Food was good, server wad attentive but had too many tables to serve. Salads that came with the dinner were late & arrived the same time as entrees. It is pricey!

My manhattan was very good and I had two. House salad was excellent. My salmon was done perfectly and vegetables were very good. My husband's meat (smoked brisket) was a little tough. Gnocchi was very good.

The kitchen can be amazingly sloppy - poured an excessive amount of salty sauce on the pad thai dish rendering it virtually inedible. When provided with over a cup of excess sauce, nothing happened. No consideration. A self respecting chef would have apologized or otherwise responded to this lack of quality control.
It was very hot with no air circulation, tainting the experience. But the bread and butter, clam chowder and salmon were delish!!!!

It was so hot at our table we were sweating. Couldn't really answer what was gluten free. Poured the beers but had no idea which one was which hen it came time to deliver them. Spilled water all over the table and slowly went to get a cloth. Had to mop it up ourselves with napkins. Steak was Luke warm at best. Overall not a pleasant experience and the food was not that good.

Food can be good or bad depending on what you get. The special was great but too much food. The scallops were a joke and way too expensive. The crab cakes were mushy but the coconut prawns were good. The location is epic but don't expect premium food.

Wow--we enjoyed a beautiful evening at Moonstone Grill. The sunset was spectacular, the food was delicious and we all had a great time! We are neighbors so we still miss the Merryman family but they started a great restaurant and Moonstone Grill is a wonderful place to eat!
