Larapin had a very unique ambiance and atmosphere, which is quite enjoyable. We had a nice waiter with good service, and the food as far as Humboldt goes is up there for quality. I really enjoyed the chicken, and the salad that came with it was delicious. My husband had the filet and shrimp skewer, for $55 it was a decent amount of food and what you would expect from a "fine dining" restaurant, however as you can see the sauce was quite burnt which unfortunately really affected the flavor of everything.

This is probably the best restaurant in Humboldt County. It is in a beautiful location, and the atmosphere of the place feels very inviting. Food is excellent, I love how a lot of it is locally sourced. One complaint is that the appetizers are too expensive for the amount you get (especially when you split for two). Otherwise the food is delicious! It is perfect for birthdays or anniversaries or other fun nights out!

We had the red snapper special which was quite delicious and the barbecue baby back ribs which were fantastic. This place is an extremely elegant and lively decorated Oasis on the coast adjacent to the redwoods. Aside from the excellent service and food, the decor mixes art and ephemera from Asia, Africa, and pop influences from the 1980s. It shouldn't work but it does. (Although please, someone please dust that gorgeous Chihuly glass chandelier in the stairway!) This is fine dining but you're going to pay for it, with entrees all priced over $40 per plate.

Friendly and informative staff in eclectic surrounds. Accommodated us when we didn’t have a booking. Food portions are generous and delicious. Steak was exactly as ordered (medium rare) and locally sourced ingredients is a wonderful touch.

Larrupin is such a gem. We stumbled upon it during our babymoon as we drove through Trinidad and the ambiance, service, and food were equally parts memorable and special.

Great menu, food was delish. A hit higher priced so be aware prior to going. The appetizer plate that comes with meal was a nice surprise.

This place is so special. The food and service were amazing. We still talk about how great our visit there was. Augustin was very welcoming and kind. We can't wait to visit again!
I have reviewed hundreds of culinary experiences. Larrupin Cafe is one of those few places that deserves 5 stars. I have been eating there for over 20 years. They are consistent, fresh and wonderfully eclectic. Especially small and intimate. But still has a comfortable feel when in a large group. Whether date night, special event or just dinner out. It is always the perfect spot.
Great date night or special occasion place in a cute remote home-like place. Everything was delicious! I got the lamb chops which were amazing. Salad and sweet potato too. Great service too without an attitude. I was impressed with how many good restaurants this area has and how friendly the people are.

Beautiful building in a most alluring setting. Staff is incredible, menu choices to satisfy any dining, and elegant setting and decor. My shrimp & filet skewers were delicious.l, but my wife's phyllo wrapped chicken was flat- so Very little taste. Done perfectly and table Presentation was beautiful and all else was delightful. Will order another choice next week meet.

A year has passed since my previous review about gluten free options and there's been not a peep from management about my review. This demonstrates that they don't give a damn. So ends my time with Larrupin Cafe.

This was such a memorable dinner for my husband and I! We had the filet mignon with the gargonzola sauce and mushrooms. Best I have ever tasted! The service was absolutely amazing! Our server was very friendly, attentive, but didn't bother us a lot. The atmosphere is so unique! So much to look at and conversation pieces! We will definitely be back when we visit the area and will long for their food until then!
