The Alpine Club is only open to members of the Tahoe Mountain Club and their guests. Fortunately, my good friends are members, so we got to come a couple times for lunch and après ski, and it was really wonderful. They have a nice indoor and outdoor patio area. We sat out on the sunny patio overlooking the mountain. They were a bit understaffed, but service was super friendly and helpful. We had a couple Bloody Mary's which were made with love, I had a chopped salad w/ a perfectly cooked chicken breast, which was delicious, and my friend had the Thai chicken sandwich which she said was wonderful, with fries, which were really exceptional - super crispy. Came back the next day for nachos and cocktails, which were also great. If you are able to come, highly recommend.

The Alpine Club was a last minute afterparty location for our wedding and it did not disappoint! We got married at the Zephyr Lodge at Northstar and our original location closed a few month prior to our wedding. Our contact arranged 2 locations we could choose from that would honor our prior contract, and the Alpine Club was the clear choice (I don't know how their normal cost is). It was easy for our guests to find after riding down the gondola on the opposite side of the Village, the room was large with a fireplace and plenty of seating for small groups to gather, sit and relax. The drinks were good, we opted to have guests buy their own drinks, and the bartenders were friendly and low key. We chose quesadillas as a snack because it is my husbands favorite, and they left us swap out the steak for chicken, since steak was the dinner. Everyone raved that they are the perfect afterparty food- easy to eat and hit the spot! Thank you Dana and the Alpine Club!

Considered becoming a member, however, encountered very rude employees. Customer service was horrible....to say the least, especially for what they want to charge you.

The Alpine Club is part of the Tahoe Mountain Club and is only open to members and their guests. We are lucky enough to have friends who are members, which allows us to join them here, at Alpine Club, in the Village, as well as Schaffers Camp up the Zephyr Express. This is a great place to rest after a day of skiing/boarding. They have a game room for the kids, which usually has a movie playing for them. While a little slow, the servers are always very patient and polite. They have wifi as well, so it's a great place to get some work done as well. I spent a couple of hours in here working while the rest of the crew skied. It's nice to have a place right in the village which is more casual than the reservation only Schaffer Camp. I do wish they had the slippers though...it sure would be nice to be able to pull the feet out of the boots for a bit. All in all, a great place in the Village with yummy enough food, and even yummier drinks. :)

Terrific club that stores skis etc. plus good bar and breakfast/lunch spot for members plus other perks.

We recently hosted our Christmas party at the Alpine Club. The staff was incredible! The food was amazing! The village was festive! There were no complaints, period! We were catered to as if we were royalty. The mood was romantic and every special touch was noticed. Thank you for making our evening a huge success!

Great for apres ski drinks!

Ski-in access on upper level. Just before the end of Village Run, turn left to ski just above the Iron Horse condo building.

Within the rapidly segmenting universe that is the Ski Resorts industry in Lake Tahoe, I have a love-hate relationship with Northstar. For better and for worse, it is the most built-out of the Tahoe ski resorts in terms of the non-ski village amenities: New-ish construction, lovely furnishings, very much a "luxury" experience in the modern McLuxury marketing parlance. But much of this attempt at going chi-chi is betrayed by the on-site staff: Instead of seasoned professionals from the hospitality industry, many of the people working here are untrained, seasonal workers relatively new to the trade. My experiences at the Alpine Club typifies this gap. On the plus side, it's a wonderful facility that's really conveniently situated to all things Northstar. It's smack in the middle of the Village, completely ski-in accessible from the Village Run trail, provides super-convenient ski valet service and is a really comfortable apres-ski watering hole. In other words, it's a perfectly lovely spot. With generally friendly, perfectly competent service. And then, you run into front-end staffers that completely betray the venue concept. Your interaction might go like mine did this afternoon: Background: We're staying in a 3-bedroom condo, party of 4 adults and 4 kids, of which 2 adults and 1 kid has their own ski gear. Me: "Hi, I'd like to check this snowboard into the valet please." Front desk: "Um, I see that this person already has a ski checked in here." Me: "Yes, is that a problem?" Front desk: "I think we can only take 1 ski or board per person. I'd have to ask my supervisor." Me: (Not wanting to wait around much; the unit is so close that I can just store at the house.) "It's a 3-bedroom unit and only 3 out of 8 of us are checking stuff here. Can I check this under one of our other (non-skiing) guest names? Front desk: "Um, I can't do that." And yet we keep going back. Joys of being a captive audience. Love-hate. Just go in with eyes wide open, and you'll be fine.
