The Carnitas Tapatias was really tasty, if a bit over salted, but for my takeout order there was neither guacamole nor pico de gallo, so be sure to double check those if you do take out.

Called two times and they didn’t answer, then when they did answer, the lady was very rude and was screaming at me, she was using many racist slurs, I literally just hung up because I would not want to give my money to a place that hires those kinds of people, lowkey rather go to Taco

What a terrific experience. I was immediately welcomed and chose to sit at the bar. Looking around it became apparent the margaritas were popular. Upon looking at the menu I also realized I should partake in the taco Tuesday special. Within minutes I was engaged in conversation with fellow patrons to my right and left, the karaoke machine was blasting songs and the entire bar was singing led by the bartender. I left the evening having filled my stomach with delicious tacos and savory margaritas, I had a handful of new friends in many belly laughs to show for it.

Food was so so. Service was great but the same waitress overcharged us for 2 additional orders that total to about almost $40. Our mistake was we didn’t ask for the print out. She just came with the card machine and just told us how much the total is. Maybe it was an honest mistake but I just don’t dishonest people/

The best thing I can say about this place is that they served food and it was edible. A lot of our items were luke warm and under seasoned. None of it was bad, it just wasn’t good either. The bar was rowdy and could be heard through the entire restaurant. The music was some 50s boomer playlist that got real old real quick. Service was bare minimum. I won’t be returning.

Wow, what can I say, excellent Mexican food, even for California. I’m from Texas and my wife and I are here for our 23rd anniversary, we were married in Lake Tahoe in March and we didn’t want to risk driving over in the snow. So 23 years later we finally made it. Your food is as good as the best in San Antonio! Glad we stopped in.Edit: The photos came out great!

One of the more reasonably priced options in Downtown Truckee! We went for dinner last night and for a group of three with an app the total was $50. Compared to the other options in the area, this is very reasonable! We started with rocket fries and then I got the taco salad with carnitas meat. They forgot the guacamole and salsa and I had to ask but it was brought shortly after. Flavors weren't out of this world but tasty and fit the bill for us.

Fun enjoyable place. More of a locals place. Definitely worth a try. They were out of some items already early on a Friday evening, so a couple of us had to go with our second choice of entree.Service level went way down as it got crowded.

Taco Tuesday absolutely slaps. Tostada not a bad alternative. Bring your wife and her sisters, they'll love it. Skinny marg tastes better than the regular one, not a calorie thing. Go niners

It's a small place and when we went it was packed. The parking was hard but worth the small walk. Our food and drinks came fast. The food was very flavorful. Our waiter had so many tables but he was so kind and always made sure we had everything we needed.

The tacos made me sad :( The meat was pretty flavorless, and the salsa was bland.

2.5… Meh food. Friendly but don’t-care service. Cozy environment if you come with a group.

New owner took a while to put his signature on the place. Mission accomplished! My favorite Mexican in town. My go to spot.

I've been meaning to try this place out for a while. Tonight was the unfortunate night that I endeavored on this quest. Overall, this place leaves a lot to be desired, and I'll certainly not be returning. - Chips: +1 for free chips, but watch out, refills come with a hefty $2.50 price tag (and without a heads up from the waitress). - Affordable prices for Truckee: However, they say you get what you pay for, but at Casa Baeza you still barely get that. - Cool Vibes: The interior is a chill spot to hang out, adding a positive note to the experience. - Terrible service: A table that was seated 5 mins after us had drinks ordered and served. We were able to flag down a bus boy and order some nachos for an appetizer. The other table then had food delivered before our server came to take our food and drink order. - Salsa: The table salsa needs an upgrade; it tasted like marinara sauce. I get that this town is mostly white people who probably don't like spicy salsa, but that doesn't mean it needs to be flavorless. Add some lime or onion in that stuff and it might be edible. - Cleanliness: Encountered a mystery white goo on my knife-- perhaps a ghost of dinners past haunting the utensils. - Lack of attention to detail: All our meals were incorrectly made; making three tacos with the right meat seems like a simple request. Plate with rice and beans on the side only came with beans. - Thirsty Troubles: The water jug remained untouched, leaving us parched. A refresher would have been appreciated (as long as it didn't cost $2.50 like the chips). Casa Baeza, you've got potential, but this place is just not good.
