Mehfil Bistro is the new name, with a new owner as of July 2021.We just had a fabulous meal! Melt in your mouth Lamb Korma and tasty Shrimp Tikka Masala and a basket of different Naan. The onion Naan was the best I have ever had! David couldn't wait to dig in. Everything was superb and fresh.

Taken over 2 months ago by Mehfil and will be renamed, good Indian food with genuine Indian spices, at last I found good spicy and tasty curries and chicken tikka, garlic Naan, definitely going to be on my regular eating list for Truckee

We went in last night, after being told the restaurant waits in Tahoe City were 50 minutes (or not even available because they were all filled up). Were we SO glad we took the 15 minute drive to Truckee. They have renamed the place---it is now Mehfil Indian Bistro. Other than one other family we were the only ones there. We ordered and the food came very quickly. It was delicious! We got Samosa Chaat, Onion Kulcha, and the Mehfil Biryani. So much food! The owner recommended the Gulab Jaman for dessert---it was sublime. Deep fried balls of dough in a wonderful sweet apricot syrup. We had enough leftovers for lunch the next day. (Except the dessert; next time I'm not sharing!)
Stopped by for lunch and was good ambient experience. Food was very yummy and prices were refreshing low.

Ordered ahead to pick up, they told us it'll be ready in 30 min. Went in to pick it up and they said it would be another 20 min - waited again. Still nothing - they kept saying it'll be out any minute. So waited an additional 15 min. Next, out of nowhere the chef comes out to say he's just beginning to prepare the meal. I was quite upset, because it had already been about an hour and a half. He told me to leave if I don't want to wait because apparently this is standard?!Extremely rude! Do not waste your time here.

This is not the place to go for good Indian food. The meat is dry and too salt. The spice was way off. No comparison to the other Indian restaurants we went to.
