Was just there. Four guys at the bar folding silverware. But not one of them able to offer a beverage. Had to wait for the guy that finally got off his barstools to go take an order. I voted with my feet and walked out. Guess their priority was folding silverware in a napkin.

We happened to drive by this place and commented how cute it was and the following day while walking Truckee Downtown we crossed the tracks and decided to give it a try for lunch. The hamburgers were great, the pulled pork sandwich with cheese was off the chain and the shake that my daughter got was wonderful. No regrets from picking this place to grub at! The service was great too!!!!

The whole reason we stopped here is it said dog friendly but they are not and the patio was not set up. We placed order to go then sat on our tailgate of our vehicle to eat.
Delicious, high-end comfort food at a great, affordable diner price in the most adorable diner setting straight out of history...or a movie set. If you are looking for great food with awesome views at a great price, visit Jax on the Tracks. There's ample parking and it's easy access to the train station and the cute historic stretch of Truckee.

Great staff. Was surprised they have shakes only $6.99 on a grease board and then charge 9.99What ver, food still kicks butt over everything else in Truckee for the whole family or in our case the Snow Summit Ski Race

Food was well prepared and tasted good. The service was friendly but it was slow and sparse. Although, just by looking around, it seemed they may have been short staffed on table servers. So on a different day this might not be an issue.

I first learned about this little gem, when I was writing one of my many dining columns, and covering dining on my radio show. They had me try many things on the menu as a media guest so that I could cover them. I was pleasantly surprised with each and every thing that I tried. My family and I try to stop at least a couple of times a year on our way to and from Tahoe or Reno. We have never been disappointed with the quality of the food and the portions are exceedingly generous. It’s one of the few places we typically end up having leftovers to bring home and enjoy the next day.
