We were seated fairly quickly on a Fri night, but sat there for 10 mins & never once greeted by anyone. We left. Poor service.

First time here - great sushi in a small, bustling space. Be prepared to wait.

Very relaxed restaurant with insanely fresh fish. This place is your one stop shop for excellent sushi in the Tahoe area. JT and Alyssa were fantastic sushi chefs and incredibly welcoming! Won’t go anywhere else for sushi!

Have dined here a couple time since they opened up from covid. They used to have great food and entertaining chefs. on my recent visit , things seem to have gone down hill , rude servers , aloof chefs, and below average food, will not return soon.

Great sushi original rolls that are amazing, very fresh!Kid-friendliness: Accomodations for kids with chopstick helpers, makeshift kids food, and forks a plenty.

WARNING : inaccurate menu, lies about which things are vegetarian. For over a year they have things listed as vegetarian on the menu, that they freely admit have fish in them. I confirmed this with the chef as well. Each time it’s “thanks for pointing that out, I’ll tell the owner” and a year later nothing changed. If you can’t trust a restaurant to be honest about what’s in the food that can be a real problem. One must ask, what else are they not saying?is the fish what they say it is?The tamago is layered with fish and marked vegetarian. The gyoza soup is fish soup and marked vegetarian. There are very likely more.

A sure fire way to ruin your ski trip? Food poisoning from this disgusting sushi restaurant. Sonic diarrhea and a puking palooza. Did you want a side of salmonella and e-coli with that spicy tuna roll? It's not worth the risk. Especially when there is a perfectly good and reputable sushi restaurant nearby. Drunken Monkey is delicious. Go there instead.

The utter stomach churning experience I derived from this godforsaken sushi restaurant was immeasurable. To start, the food quality was beyond revolting. Our main courses included a Chirashi bowl, a rainbow roll, as well as a spicy tuna roll. The Chirashi was completely flavorless with no flair to its appearance. When biting into a piece of sashimi one should experience freshness and a feeling of satisfaction. However, I only felt like I had eaten a tuna-shaped lump of nothingness as I bit into the sashimi. Furthermore, both rolls' main source of protein was the imitation crab, or so they say. I don't know how they pulled off such a feat, but the crab tasted like string cheese with no real purpose in the dish. Overall, the food was bland, unremarkable, and an insult to all Japanese cuisine. I don't have much to say for the service and atmosphere other than being ordinary since I had ordered my food for pick-up. Though I do have something to say about their outrageous pricing for their terrible food. To be more specific, I ordered the three main dishes , 4 tamagos, and 4 ikuras. The total pricing came up to $157. I am speechless. Go to Drunken Monkey if you're in the area of Truckee. That is all I have to say.
