We got take out, quartz Ramen and a California roll. The Quartz Ramen was good enough. I'd give it 3.5 and it will satisfy the craving if in need. The Cali roll was a little toooo simple and a little funny/sad. I think they may have missed a few ingredients haha. Anyways, I'd recommend in a pinch but go in with tempered expectations.

We waited one hour to just to get seated and another hour for some Ramen noodles. One large table that got there same time as us already got their food and left. We stay waited only got our appetizers and poke bowls. Then we noticed 3 other tables that got there before us already got their Ramen noodles. I understand it might be busy not enough server but they didn’t even come to our table to even acknowledge us or even to check on our food to see what the hold up was. We waited so long we paid for what already came out and left. Can’t even you guys a review if the Ramen noodles since we didn’t even get a chance to eat it. Overall my experience there was not good at all.

We found it really frustrating that in 2025 this restaurant had no offerings for Gluten Free ramen. It's a mistake to exclude a segment of your customers by not simply offering rice noodles for people with allergies. We've been to some of the best ramen restaurants on the west coast and they all offer GF options. 👎

Very disappointed, we ordered four different ramens, all of which had very bland broths. Toppings were not plentiful and ramen egg was fridge cold. Ramen noodles were bouncy and al dente.! Spicy cucumber was not spicy, chicken karaage was your basic fried chicken. Not karaage flavors of ginger garlic. Coating was not startch, more of a AP flour batter. Brussels Sprouts were also bland and undercooked. Service was minimal and the waitress came across as condescending, no check back no more drinks offerings nothing. Brought the bill to table while we were still eating. I would give it a big miss and spend my money elsewhere.

Truly yummy vegan ramen! The vegan gyozas & Brussels sprouts are delicious. The service is great when it’s not too busy, they’re quick and everything is always plated so nicely. The chefs really know what they’re doing.

Ramen is decent, just gotta leave a review here because of a rude person working the front desk. I came in at 8:09 9/18/25. And whoever was working gave me a rude “we’re closed already” and I smiled saying it says your closed on 8:30 on google. And she told me I was wrong. I showed her on Apple Maps 8:30, and I just got a rude “that’s not google”. Just unnecessary and I don’t normally leave reviews like this. But it was off putting. Never coming here again.

What a great idea in Truckee! Tucked away across from Raley’s ONE Market, next to Truckee Brewing Company. Great pit stop for comfort food. We got the Garnet (miso soup base) bowl & Hiyashi Ramen bowl. Great food!

After carefully reading the menu we picked this place because it seemed to offer GF options - boy were we disappointed.

The menu is written in a way that makes it impossible to realize there are barely gluten free options and that the kitchen definitely doesn’t separate anything (the waiter literally told us “we’re not a GF friendly restaurant, we even cook the rice noodles in the same broth as the regular noodles”).

If, like us, you think you found a loophole by carefully checking which dishes state using Soy - you’re not. This is inconsistently marked and the Miso contains Soy in itself.

Lastly , the server did almost anything possible to talk down the single GF ramen, going as far as saying it’s the least flavorful one available and suggesting one of the others, that unfortunately all have Gluten.

All in all, if you have any gluten sensitivity, stay away.

We flew in to Truckee (from Reno) to see what this Ramen shop was about and we weren't disappointed. Right off the bat, the service was excellent, and it continued that way throughout our visit. The waitress was very welcoming, informative, attentive (but not overly so), and friendly. We tried the Chicken Karaage (good flavor and perfectly cooked...very moist inside), the Pork Buns were a tasty, the chilled Spicy Cucumber was refreshing with its perfect level of low heat, and the Ramen we chose were the Garnet and the Spicy Garnet. Each was tasty, but the Garnet seemed more flavorful, perhaps due to the level of heat possibly detracting a bit from the flavor. We actually thought the appetizers were a bit better than the Ramen. We will return to this ramen-ya in one of our future visits to Truckee. Notice to pilots, the little plaza in which this cafe is located, is about a mile from the TRK terminal! It is a good, and a welcome addition to the growing Truckee dining scene. Visitors should note that it's at the Truckee airfield (TRK), and not in downtown Truckee...so access and parking would be much easier! Check it out!

Amazing food, we tried darn near every labeled vegan option. Service was fantastic food was even better! Not a ton of vegan options in the Tahoe area and this place was a great change of pace! Highly recommended for people on plant based diet

The restaurant is understaffed for a Friday lunch hour. The hostess is the server. I understand things can take longer for a one woman show. However after she sat us down in the corner she ignored us and sat 2 more parties down and one more person at the bar. They all got drinks and their orders taken while we got zero service. No menu and no water, not once did she even glance this way.

We were very hungry after all the people who sat down before us got water and their orders placed, and more people entered the restaurant to be seated, I decided we should leave since we were not getting any service.

This is probably the most disappointing dining experience that I have ever experienced.

I had an amazing experience at Rakkan Ramen! The RUBY Shrimp Miso was absolutely delicious – rich, flavorful, and perfectly balanced. The shrimp were cooked just right, and the broth had that deep umami taste that makes you want to finish every last drop. The atmosphere was cozy and the service was friendly and fast. I’ll definitely be coming back. Highly recommend!
