I don't mind spending a lot of money for good food. But Tangerine is really expensive for average food. The Cassoulet was $42. For that price I was expecting it might include a duck breast. But it was just an over salted sausage and a good confit over some beans. It also lacked the richness of a traditional cassoulet. The trout was equally disappointing. Desserts were basic - creme brulee, lava cake. We enjoyed the lava cake. However the table next to us said the creme brulee was so bad they couldn't finish it.

A true gem in the Sierra’s. The wait staff is truly amazing. Very spacious and room to breathe while dining. The food was exceptional, very fresh and French like. The kitchen has Gould take a bow. I wasn’t sure about what wine would go well with the meal and they brought out a flight pairing to assist with my bottle choice!

10 Stars! Absolutely amazing dinner. Everything we had was delicious but I particularly loved the French onion soup. I eat a lot of FOS and this was up there as one of the best.
The shrimp was good, baguette is worth getting. We had the cassoulet and steak frites as mains and loved it all. Cannot recommend this place enough for a special occasion or not.
They also have a solid happy hour that's worth checking out. Great staff, Brooke was amazingly friendly. Good music too - these jazzy instrumental remixes of pop/rap songs. Nothing beats humming along to PASS THE COURVOISIER while eating duck confit!

We both had great meals. Proportions were perfectly sized. A good selection for every taste. Good wine selection to complement the meal.

Food is worth the price, indulge and live a little! You won't be disappointed! It was great to have another new restaurant from these owners and see them do something differently. I've tried nearly everything on the menu and the only thing I wouldn't order again is the ravioli unless you're really in the mood for pasta (in which case you should really just go to Great Gold instead). Atmosphere is simple and chic, not quite French, could use a few more pieces of art, but the details are great down to the wallpaper in the entryway. Staff are skilled and hopefully treated well because they don't seem to turnover much which is great to see regular faces there.

Went here twice! Sat alone once and went with a small group another time. It was very good. The service was very accommodating and friendly. I order oysters, raviolis, crème brulee, and a coffee. It was very delicious!
Finally someone got this space right! Food was amazing and our service was incredible. Sylvie and the entire staff here were amazing. Had most of the happy hour menu and it didn’t disappoint. Best burger in town! Thank you Tangerine, we will be back soon!
Vegetarian options: My burger was amazing!

Incredible food, excellent service. Best meal I've had in Truckee in a long time. Went with a big group, got a bunch of apps entree's and deserts and every one of them was a standout. And to the guy dishing a 1 star review below me because you didn't get happy hour, tough luck buddy. Many fine dining restaurants only have it in the bar and have a line for it. You were late to the party, are whining about your mistake, and dinging a killer spot for no reason.

Amazing food, the mussels and cheese plate during happy hour were to die for. Pro tip: add the baguette and dip it in the mussel sauce. Drinks, service, music, and atmosphere all great as well. Highly recommend!
