There was a band playing outside near the parking lot, and they were super loud. We didn't realize there would be music when we booked outside seating. Luckily, there was seating around the side to muffled the noise. The food was just ok, but they give a generous wine glass pour. The cobbler didn't have any cobbler in it. It was more like cooked fruit with ice cream. We didn't think the experience was worth the price tag, so we likely won't return.
Great food! great vibe! - service always seems to be just below average , maybe low on staff.
mediocre service, lazy servers, poor food quality, a challenge to get attention, we had to get up several times to find our server for beverages, and the place was not busy, bummer.
We enjoyed the excellent food & friendly service! I think the outside patio would have made this a perfect 5 star experience now that the Summer weather has arrived.
We love this place and visit frequently. Changed the menu and I was hoping for something else. We will still go back.
Food is average. Nothing special.
Waitress appeared overwhelmed.
Wait for food was far too long. And they were slow.
Very nice place. Nice atmosphere. Great wine selection.
The Cocktails were good, the cheese bread is great, but the wagyu beef burger was dry and lacked flavor. Our waitress was nice but we barely saw her. Once we ordered our food and drinks I don’t think she stopped by again until we were ready for the check. I told her I wasn’t sure about the drink I ordered and she asked if I liked it after I paid… too little too late. My husband also wanted to get another drink but he couldn’t because no one came by 😑
I also just found out they changed the details of our tip. Our bill came out to $108 and we gave them $100 cash and paid the rest on card. The bill totaled $120, since we got such poor service.. I just found out they charged my card $28. I will be disputing this with my bank. Could not recommend this place less
Love the new menu- especially looking forward to the Mothers Day Brunch!
Apparently they have changed all Kitchen staff and is owned by someone else now Food is below par !! I knew immediately when I saw my husband‘s beef stroganoff on his plate that something had changed. It tasted awful presentation was awful. I asked for a steak salad. The steak was tough as Nails. It was such a disappointment. They used to have such good food. I hope they get it together
There was a great vibe and music. Our severs were all incredibly attentive. Something happened in the kitchen so we waited 45 minutes for our food, but they really tried to compensate for the crazy wait.

The Sawyer is a lively and fun place to dine. Service is excellent. We had the beef stroganoff, portobello mushroom on brioche bun, cheesy loaf were all made to perfection. Yum! Special shout out to the cheesy loaf— we would go back just for that. It is that good! While the room was full of energy, the entire experience was relaxing and we got to enjoy our meal and have nice conversation. Our server did a great job! And we were never rushed. We had a wonderful night. We will be back!
I have IBD (inflammatory bowel disease). I rarely eat out because of it but I got stuck in Truckee for an unanticipated extra night and ran out of camping supplies. I ended up coming here because it looked like I could get something simple that wouldn't upset my stomach.
I ordered a Sawyer salad with chicken and the king salmon. I'm a dolt and forgot to tell them no pepper on any of my food as my IBD can't handle it (my mouth loves it).
When the Sawyer salad with chicken came, I realized it had pepper on it. I tried the chicken (it was delicious by the way) and realized I was going to get into trouble.
I asked the waitress to not put pepper on my salmon and asked for another salad saying up front that it was 100% my fault not telling them to hold the pepper.
Joey was so kind. Even though I insisted on paying for another salad, she refused to charge me and said that the kitchen shouldn't be putting pepper on the salad and that customers should get to choose how much they want. She said they changed policy on account of it.
I felt badly to create any problems for her or the kitchen as the salad was great tasting.
What stood out was her great attitude about it and how she made me feel like less of a dolt.
Thanks for the great service Joey!!
Btw. The setting of this restaurant is just spectacular!
Great food, excellent selection of choices. Got to try the Cheese bread. Everything we had was fantastic. Cocktails were great and beautiful view! So glad we found this restaurant
Note to manager hopefully some constructive feedback : our previous visits have been great - great food, great service, but this visit on 13th March was a dud . Took an hour to get the main course , when I came the steak was flavorless, the shepherds pie was too salty, pasta dust was overcooked and too salty , staff forgot cutlery , no attentiveness during meal, serving staff complained to us about the kitchen staff (!) . Appetizer was good. I know the sawyer can do better I hope this is taken as constructive feedback. Thank you Jan Edbrooke 408 218 2508
Hot cheesy bread was really cold. Cheese was not melted. They kept giving us prosciutto on our burrata plate even though we told them we are vegetarian twice.
