I'ma brag for just a minute. A loaf of sourdough from this establishment was dropped off to my job today, and we tore pieces off of it as we worked. Wanna know what we thought? "OMG I wish I had some warm butter to dip this in!" "I'd love some olive oil and balsamic!" "Can you imagine the sandwich you could make with this?" We pushed papers all day, tearing off bit by bit until this and a loaf of rosemary sourdough was all gone. Here are my thoughts. Hardy, chewy exterior. You know this would hold up to any preparation you had planned without drooping or becoming soggy. At first touch it felt rather tough, but it breaks open easy enough to reveal an extremely pleasant, bready experience. Interior? Moist, without being wet. Some bread leaves your mouth feeling like sand, not this stuff! It was SO FLUFFY, with a wonderful chew and mouth feel. I don't know how they accomplished bread that was moist like cake but without any oily, wet feeling. The smell? Fantastic. Dictionary definition of good bread smell. I ate the sourdough by itself, but my imagination has been running wild ever since, thinking about the myriad ways it could be utilized, and how DELICIOUS it would be! If you have a chance to try the bread from this place, especially the sourdough, you won't regret it! Meanwhile, I'm going to be dreaming of a giant muffaletta sandwich with a loaf of this Wonderful bread

I absolutely love the bread they produce. But I have to say, after spying the Artisan sourdough Toaster Biscuits, I was over the moon. I used to live Australian a toaster Biscuits when Orowheat made them. Then they were discontinued. I searched and searched, but was left with ratty, awful English Muffins from Thomas'. That is until I found Truckee Sourdough's version last week. I found them at Nugget Market In Woodland. I was skeptical, but they looked pretty similar and OMG, they are exactly what I was hoping for. Please please please give them a try. They are solid and make an excellent toasted sandwich or with butter and jam.

Sorry you had to put your sourdough in plastic bags. (COVID I’m sure) The crust really suffers.

The bread is wonderful, but customer service sucks. For many years I had a home at Lake Tahoe and I enjoyed the Truckee Sliced Sourdough. I have sold the home and no longer go to the area, so I have tried to contact TSD to find out the closed place to the Bay Area that I can buy their bread. I am willing to drive up to one hour to buy it if I have to, so I sent and email asking the question as to the closest place to the Bay Area I can buy the bread. I got no response, so I sent a second - no response. Finally, I called the company, but there is no way to reach a live person. All I could do was leave a message. No response. I do not care how good the bread is, I am not going to patronize a company that ignores their customers. I am done dealing with their arrogance.

The sourdough is 5 star. Living in San Francisco a lot of the time it is considered odd to be getting bread from Lake Tahoe. But as toast with Irish salted butter this really can't be beat. I get it at Nugget in the Sac area and Joe's in SF. (It's the plain bag bread at Joe's). What can be beat is their customer service. I called here and went by twice and never got an answer and they don't answer the door. If they do not have tours they need a recorded message stating so. Being named Truckee Sourdough Company they should be more customer friendly in Truckee when their customers are in Truckee. I wanted a fresh loaf right from the same day and they don't even answer their phone.
