Juju made my night. She was helpful, professional, humorous, and sweet. I will be back just because of her.

Sean at the bar makes THE BEST martinis in town! Don’t forget to ask for the blue cheese stuffed olives, they are made in house and to die for! Pairs really well with the Tallow Fries.

The food and drinks are absolutely amazing! The staff are all friendly and attentive. They even stuff their own olives for the vodka martinis.

We sat on the porch with beautiful weather. Inside vibe is really cool also!
We had the mushroom tortelli and it was amazing. Savory but light. We are from bourbon country (KY) and had an old fashioned that was incredible! Owner was present greeting tables and so personable. Definitely recommend!

Stopped in here for a quick bite on Independence Day. The service was great (I sat at the bar) my shrimp cocktail had huge shrimp and my wings were hot and cooked perfectly. They didn’t even need the ranch dip on the side. I’m a snob for Old Fashions and he made it very well.

A great bartender made the stop worth my while but the food was very expensive.

I really hate giving less than five stars to a local business, but I have to be honest. My husband and I have been wanting to try Truckee Tavern for the past year. We decided to take his dad and brother out for dinner.

Pros:
- Bartender was super friendly
- My husband loved the pork chop

Cons:
- We had a reservation but still waited about 25 minutes for a table
- We ordered food when the waitress came for our drink order, but it still took ~45 minutes to receive food
- My chicken was so overcooked that I couldn’t even get meat off any pieces other than the breast piece (dark meat had been incinerated). I needed a steak knife to eat the breast. We noted this to the waitress who mumbled “sorry” and that was it.

Overall we were super disappointed with Truckee Tavern. For a price of over $50 per person, sadly I don’t think we’ll be back for another try.

Traveling through and went by google ratings. Should have looked closer at other restaurants. I love steak so I ordered the ribeye. It was the worst one I have ever eaten. My husband said it had a lighter fluid
taste that he couldn’t get out of his mouth. Creamed spinach was good but not creamy. My husband ordered pasta with vegetables. He didn’t like it. The Mac and cheese was good.
We broke our own rule. If a restaurant looks empty at 6:30 pm, go somewhere else and save yourself from wasting your money.

If you like salt, you're in luck with the current Wednesday night crew. Most everything was salted by a pallet that is numbed by salt. Cocktails and service were solid.

The linguine was not too salty but the beet salad and Halibut were heavy salt. Lacked balance. I'm retaining water as I type.

Overpriced for badly prepared food, I don't mind paying more for food, but at least cook it, waitress was just there for cash, nothing else

Pleasant dining experience at Truckee Tavern. Central location in downtown Truckee, with a view of the train station and the surrounding downtown area. Fast and friendly food service, and the baked chicken was a very good dish to share. Parking can be hard to find in downtown Truckee, so be prepared to walk a bit (5-10 minutes).

I have been here multiple times over the last few years. The food has always been excellent and the service friendly and efficient. The atmosphere is also very nice both in winter and summer. They have an upstairs outdoor deck that is open summer which is especially nice when it is not too hot.

Dinner was fine. Nothing extraordinary. We were able to get same day reservations but only with the option to sit inside. The music was very loud and despite the fully open restaurant, a family with small children was seated directly next to us. This was odd.

The mac n’ cheese was AMAZING with a great crispy top. The atmosphere was super aesthetic and cute with hanging down lights. We had additional guests decide to tag along and the staff was accommodating to help us make room. However, the server we had taking care of us had an attitude and did not make us aware of an additional charge to split plates until the checks came and were confused on the charges. She may have been having a bad day, but that was not our fault and we did not deserve the eye rolls and exasperated sighs as we ordered. There was also the Truckee farmers market event taking place at the time, but the restaurant was not busy by any means.

Vegetarian options: There were some vegan options available.

Parking: We parked up the hill.
