If you want fresh bake goods, this is not your bakery. The sweet bread which I liked is not make daily only when old one is sold per assistant. I tried the custard nazook and it was old and expensive. Service poor except the young assistant who is sweet and helpful.
Parking not available and very busy street to Park. Won't go back again
Good pastries and cakes but horrible customer service.

Noah lands his bread Ark on Ararat Mountain Bakery everyday 🥐🛳️⛰️
Terrible Bakery. All there desserts have been there for days they are all mushy. Terrible employees they have such bad attitude towards costumers it’s like I’m begging for free food I’m just trying to buy barbari and they always give me stale bread one time I told my daughter to go in and buy bollios and came out with over 10 of them and stale they wanted to trick my daughter and give her all the stale bread. Today I went in and bought a chocolate covered strawberries and turns out they don’t wash them.
Their pastry, cookies and bread are good quality. Counter ladies are amigable and courteous. I'm going there for the last 20 years.
We bought cake pops and asked the worker if they contained any nuts due to severe nut allergy and she assured me that it is nut free. I asked 3 times if she was sure if it was nut free and she said yes with an attitude. While my kid was eating it, we discovered a piece of walnut in the cake pop. This is very unacceptable as nut allergies are life threatening! I'm very upset and I will never come to this bakery again! If you are not sure if it is nut free, you should not give incorrect information!
Be aware of illegal surcharge when purchasing with a credit card. It is illegal for a bakery in California to charge a credit card surcharge fee on your purchase. it's been illegal for most businesses in California to charge credit card surcharges since July 1, 2024. This is due to Senate Bill 478, also known as the "Honest Pricing Law"
As of February 2025 they still add a surcharges to your bill

I bought 4 different pastries and all 4 was old.
It was not fresh. The taste was very bad. You can’t keep old pastries in the store, Just through it way if it’s old.

Old & Stale Bakery is more suiting of a name; a dozen lahmajoun w/ 9 in the trash. With a faint of meat on stale dough, it was anything but edible. A tray of pastries from Ararat became the butt of our Thanksgiving joke, as it found its way to the table, only to to be mocked and ridiculed for the horrendous taste of old pastries having taken on the smell of the refrigerator. The amount of money I paid for both we were able to recoup in laughter and a lesson to not deviate from the quality of bakeries we usually shop from. The sad part was this women behind the register took so long to figure out the amounts to ring up, I honestly believe she just made up prices. $2.25 per lahmajoun and $35 for the mid-size tray of this particularly popular pastry that I cannot recall the name of.

They have the best breads, you can freeze them and use them later on or simply enjoy it fresh every day.

Recommended dishes: Wedding Cake, Barbari Bread
Ponchik used to be the best around, recommended to others, and all started buying from here. Now it's the worse, all dough, hardly any custard inside. Everyone else said same thing and stopped going there
