Love this bakery so much. My husband and I decided to trust this bakery with our wedding Millefoglie cake and I AM SO HAPPY WE DID! Ayliz and her team are amazing!! Ayliz was so kind and patient with us and explained the details of how to cut and decorate the cake properly. If I could have their millefoglie cake EVERYDAY believe me I would. It is absolutely delicious and so so fresh. We also ordered cannolis for our guests and everyone loved them so much. Highly highly recommend this amazing bakery.

Poul’s Bakery is my favorite bakery in Costa Mesa and my go to is the princess cake. But I was planning my parent’s 50th wedding anniversary party. They made a Croquembouche cake and decorated it with real flowers I provided. They were so great!!! They were accommodating to my budget and was so helpful to figure out how to decorate the cake. The cake was a centerpiece for our party and it was a big hit!! Not only for the looks but oh my god the crème puffs were so good. I’m obsessed. I’m glad I opted for the tallest size (2 feet tall) because my nephew ate like 20 of them before I stopped him so everyone else could enjoy.
The cake was perfect and fun way to have a dessert. We saved some of the crème puffs for ourselves and they were super good cold the next day too! She’s an artist and amazing baker. You won’t be disappointed if you order your specialty cake here.

Poul’s Bakery made a 48 in millefoglie cake for our wedding and we couldn’t be happier enough with how it turned out! I was looking for someone who would be able to construct the cake live for our wedding and was so happy to find Poul’s! I called Ayliz and she was a pleasure to work with from beginning to end. Not only did she make us a tasting cake to try before the wedding (it was delicious and exactly what we were looking for) but she was extremely informative about the logistics regarding the wedding cake and quite literally made our dreams come true. Our wedding cake was the HIGHLIGHT of our wedding! Everyone was so impressed that she was constructing such a large and beautiful cake live and it tasted incredible. To this day, everyone remembers our wedding cake and mentions it when they see us. I cannot recommend Ayliz and Poul’s Bakery enough, it was the perfect touch for our wedding and I would recommend her to anyone that wants this special and breathtaking moment for their wedding!

Ayliz was so accommodating in taking my order less than 24 hours before I needed it. The Millefoglie cake that she created was 7 x 7 for mine and my husband‘s five year anniversary. Our wedding cake in Italy was very similar and I have to say that the one from Poul’s might have been better than our wedding cake! It was outstanding.

I wanted an alcohol free tiramisu cake for a girls get together the next day. Ayliz was very knowledgeable and helpful. She explained that the traditional tiramisu is never made with alcohol. I was thrilled to be able to get the cake I was looking for. She took the order and told me I could pick it up same day. The cake was a big hit. Delicious and light. I’m really glad I found Poul’s Bakery and I will be visiting them again. Their bakery is really cute even though I only picked up the cake. I didn’t stay. They have a really cute comfortable eating area for tea and bites. I may dine in next time.

Stereotypical snooty French owner. I preordered a cake and provided my name (normal procedure). I walked in for pick up, no one was there, empty. Had to call out for someone. She finally came out, I said I’m picking up a cake. I think she asked what I ordered (couldn’t understand her clearly). And as most would usually respond, I told her it’s under my name. She got annoyed and raised her voice asking again, WHAT DID YOU ORDER?! Oh my, geez. Calm down woman. I tried to be friendly but she was just too snobbish and rude. Terrible customer service. My family didn’t even like the cake (limoncello), flavorless, barely tart and can’t pick up any mascarpone flavor. Never coming back.
