My family is Muslim and we ordered some food from Taco Chico yesterday and forgot to ask if they use lard in their refried beans and tortillas (they do). The woman who answered my phone call was SO kind, extremely apologetic and offered to make us food without lard, to educate the staff, etc. Personally, I feel it’s on us to ask as I’m sure most patrons do not have dietary restrictions and said so. I've had an itch for a torta for a long time and each time I go to a Mexican spot it's hard to find even decent tortas that catch my attention.
Here at Taco Chico what caught my attention was the torta de birria. Oh my goodness it was so juicy, the juice is mixed with the toasted bread and a mixture of lettuce, guac and cheese all of it just fits so well. Thank you for providing this torta. I highly recommend eating here, for the torta alone.
