The prime rib was overcooked and tough. A real let down. I asked for 1 thing from my server when she bothered to show up, and never received it. Pretty disappointing for a guy who just wanted some good prime rib.......

We just ate here August 31st around 5pm, and this was a truly horrible dining experience; mediocre, bland, unseasoned food, expensive prices, dusty and boring interior, 22 minute wait for cocktails when it wasn't busy at all, flies all around us as we ate, and worst of all we couldnt even drink the water as we found not one, but two fruit flies in our water. The only positive thing I have to say is that our server was good and nice. This fine dining restraunt was anything but fine. You cant even trust the water. I advise anyone to avoid this place and look elsewhere, you'll find cheaper food that tastes better, and no flies included.

We were excited to try The Eproson House for the first time, but unfortunately the experience fell short of expectations. We ordered the 10oz Flank steak, and it took quite a long time to come out. When it finally arrived, it was cold. After sending it back, the replacement still came out only lukewarm. The steak itself lacked seasoning or flavor, and the sides that came with it weren’t very enjoyable either. We ended up relying on A1 sauce just to make it decent.
On the positive side, the bread with oil and vinegar was outstanding, and the drinks were excellent — definitely the highlight of the evening. Our waitress was kind and tried to make up for the experience by not charging us for the drinks, which we really appreciated. That gesture stood out even though the food itself was disappointing.
Unfortunately, overall service seemed overwhelmed for a Thursday night; we even overheard other diners commenting on how long it was taking to get their food.
While we appreciated the great drinks and thoughtful service from our waitress, the main dishes left us underwhelmed, and we’re not sure we’d return anytime soon.

I had the bar menu prime rib sandwich, Philly cheese style with fries, it was beyond excellent!
Next time I would ask for the fries to be a little bit on the crisp side as is my personal preference.
I had an old fashioned from the young female bartender and it was excellent!
The guy who was tending bar with the earrings, didn't do so good.
He forgot to place our order and seemed a bit lost.

This place is a hidden gem. The food is great, service is good, and the restaurant is a quaint little place with lots of history. The bar is my favorite place to dine, but with kids, outdoors is perfect. There aren't many places out there like Twain Harte anymore!

Great experience. Staff was friendly, food was great. Cant wait to go back!
We had the chicken parmesan, fish (halibut I believe), flank steak (was chewy and undercooked).

Fine dining atmosphere with a pretty dining lodge (especially in the winter weather), romantic vibes for sure, note that during the weekends the attached bar has live music at times and can get a bit loud, the bar staff is super fun and maintain a clean atmosphere amongst the party seekslers!

Eperson House has lost its charm. We were initially asked to move our table because someone else had requested it, which is unusual. The caprese straciatella didn’t come with Cover’s Farm heirloom tomatoes as advertised on the menu, but instead, it was served with cherry tomatoes on baguette bread, which was quite disappointing. The ribeye was okay, but my baked potato was cold. I would recommend driving further up the road to either Mia’s or the Steam Donkey.

We arrived at the restaurant exactly at 7:00 PM. The place was not busy at all, yet the food didn’t start arriving until 9:00 PM. The first course was just a poorly prepared and unappetizing salad. The main course didn’t reach our table until around 9:15 PM. This level of disorganization is completely unacceptable.
We had our 2.5-year-old daughter with us, and as any parent knows, it’s incredibly difficult to keep a young child seated, hungry, and waiting for that long. This experience was nothing short of a disaster.
I will never return to this place and will actively discourage others from coming. It’s shocking that an establishment that wastes people’s time and money like this is even operating. I truly hope the money earned from this kind of service brings no good to its owner. Absolutely disgraceful.
After reading all the recent bad reviews, my husband and I still decided to try this place since there aren’t too many options in the area. Even with pretty low expectations, this place is appalling bad. Really unenthusiastic service, like no “hello, how are you?” Basically just “are you ready?” We were hungry, so we’re grateful to get our food pretty quickly, but it was definitely not good. We ordered prime rib and flank steak, both medium rare. Both were under seasoned & tough. Some components were ok, both nothing was good like you’d expect on a $40 dinner. The rice was the most bizarre thing I’ve probably been served in a restaurant. It looked like rice a roni and tasted like turmeric and tomato, but had no salt. I’m not sure what’s going on with this place 😂. The only positive was good cocktails and we managed to get another round and enough of a buzz going to laugh off the $160 we spent for 2 people. Props to the 2 lady bartenders working last night. They seem to be the only employees who know what they’re doing and have any personality. If I ever find myself here again, I’d visit the bar, but would definitely never order food again.
