This is a review of our restaurant experience. We made our reservation a week ahead for our anniversary dinner. When we arrived a little before 6:30p we were told we could only sit either next to the swinging kitchen door, or immediately next to the musicians. Granted we are seniors but this air conditioned dining room is a small room, with hard floors and low ceilings and the music was way too loud for us to comfortably carry on any kind of a conversation. Another table that was set for 3 was vacant but we were told it wasn't available even though we were offered a louder table that was set for 4. In any case, it wouldn't have mattered which table we were assigned because of the loudness issue. Luckily there was one empty table by the pool, and even though it was around 95 F. outside we had a pleasant meal. The curry and portobello mushroom dishes were very tasty but the included veggies were not cooked and were very tough. Generally we absolutely love coming to the 29 Palms Inn, and its atmosphere and artistic flair can't be beat, but I'm afraid we've had more than one experience like this which keeps us from coming more often. We'll be back tho!

Just here for a night & lucked out with this restaurant! Sea bass special excellent! Curry was perfect! Bread worth the calories. A must if you’re in 29 Palms, CA. Friendly people and service impeccable! I like the vibes of this place. Duet playing great dining music; not too loud and good sound!

Food & drinks: Great IPA’s + other really good beers.

Beware of the $25 cancellation fee, even when cancelled over a month in advance!

Unfortunately I had to cancel my stay and cancelled it more than 30 days in advance. I was still charged a $25 cancellation fee (processing fee) which seems rather excessive. It seems they always charge this fee, no matter the rate. My fault as I didn't read the small print but hadn't encountered this before.

I was hoping to stay another time but will look for a more welcoming place for a future stay near Joshua Tree.

29 Palms Inn is an oasis in every sense of the word. It's a lovingly crafted, simple and cozy retreat with a beautiful pool and an inviting restaurant/café.

29 Palms Inn sits right by the oasis, first settled by the Serrano people who called it Mara, meaning "the place of little springs and abundant grass."

We didn't stay at the inn. We just ate dinner at the restaurant. It was my friends birthday.

Food & drinks: Oh my! The food was delicious. We had the bass special with mango salsa. The meal tasted so fresh and was prepared well.

We had a great time at 29 Palms Inn. Heidi and her family perpetuate a long family tradition of welcoming and creative atmosphere. It's a beautiful oasis in the Mojave desert.
Breakfast is delicious (we're still dreaming of the gingerbread...). Our penthouse suite was very roomy and comfortable.
We warmly recommend this place to anyone (including families) wanting to visit Joshua tree national park.

Beyond my expectations! Absolutely quaint historic ranch with private accommodations. The place is immaculate yet it’s original rustic charm remains intact. Super eclectic menu with amazing drinks. I stayed in the two bedroom Fault Line with views on the pond right outside our front door. I would come back and highly recommend 29 Palms Inn ?

Walkability: There’s a lot on the property to see

Food & drinks: 29 Palms Inn menu is eclectic with something for everyone including vegans.

Noteworthy details: You’re about 20 minutes from shopping and other restaurants. You MUST get up early to catch the amazing sunrise ?
